Drove to Twin Falls Idaho for business, hauled my Speedmaster up with me for a day and a half of riding. Hwy 93 between the lava fields and Shoshone. Not a car in sight for quite a while. Patrol going the other way. When he hit his lights and turned around, for the heck of it I took it up to a 100 then slowed down and let him catch up.

Do you know why I stopped you? No
Do you know how fast you were going? Maybe 70.
I clock you at 82! No way, with this wind, I don't think this Triumph can go that fast.

He didn't buy it.

I hate to say it, but I kind of needed a ticket as I have been riding fast of late.

Just east of here in TX, they get you for more than that for 66 in a 65. And, all the judges are convinced that the speedometer on every vehicle ever made is accurate to within .025 inch/hour.

^ Same here in Louisiana. 80 in a 65 would cost you $150.

Thats all. Pay it double and say here is for next time.

I have no faith in human perfectability. I think that human exertion will have no appreciable effect upon humanity. Man is now only more active - not more happy - nor more wise, than he was 6000 years ago. Edgar Allan Poe
