So Ellen and I come home from doing a benefit photo shoot for The Georgia Autism Group and pull into the driveway. At this moment I realize something is different. Sitting next to my beloved Speedy is a brand new set of tires. Upon closer inspection, I see not only are they the correct tires for my bike but there is a B.A. patch secured to them.
Anyone who saw me at the last Ga. rally can attest that I needed new tires last May. Well, the last few months have been financially challenging to say the least. Because of this my bike has sat, waiting patiently for new shoes. Apparently, at least six of my BA.com brothers and sisters took it upon themselves to help me out and bought some new tires.
So I know that my buddy, Thom Williams, had to be involved since he lives only about five miles from me. So I call him to ask if he mistakenly left something at my house..... "no mistake" he says and then proceeds to tell me that a group of friends got together ANONYMOUSLY and got them for me. He won't tell me who 'cuz he is sworn to secrecy.... darn him!!
Well, I was nearly in tears, to think that a group of people thought that highly of me humbles me beyond belief... I am extremely grateful and thank God daily for all my friends on this site. I just wanted to say thank you from the bottom of my heart to all those that were involved... your thoughtfulness is extremely generous..... everyone ride safe, Gordon

Nice one Gordon, with so much crap and greed in the world today it kind of restores your faith in human nature.

It could be your anonymous friends wanted to return some of what you've already done for them

That is sooo cool Gordon But I have to say, I am not a bit surprised. Some of the acts of generoisty I have witnessed with members on this site in the last 9 years have been amazing. Like Missannies said, now get out there and ride!

Wow Gordon, that is alright. I guess all those years of paying folks to be your friends has paid off.
Seriously though what a nice bunch of people those BA folks are.

I wanna say I've had my TBA about a year. Riding was limited as I had spinal surgery 6 weeks in and, as soon as I was good to go, I broke my collarbone mountain biking. I did find this group early on. I've been a member of other groups as I've been riding 36,000 years. So many people out there want to jump on you and tell you how bad/mean/stupid/ugly you are. This is the most encouraging, helpful, funny group I've ever been a part of. Good on you guys.

I'm good to go. No problems. Well, I still don't fit on my wife's VFR. Unfortunately, due to an active lifestyle and small brain capacity, I've been through this rehab thing many times.

Right on Gordon! Lynn was just asking me about how you this past Friday! One of the TV shows had a Gordon credit...

Looks like some gratis beers are in in order once I twist Thom's arm! You ride up to Dahlonega for the rally this years and a tank of gas is on me.
