My bike must have come with a battery that was out of the ordinary. My bike is an 02 that I bought in July of 02. I have never put it on a trickle charger over the winters and it varies wether I have it stored in a heated storage unit or not and living in Pennsylvania it definitely gets plenty cold here. I went over to my storage unit (not heated) yesterday. I pulled my bike out turned the fuel on, waited a couple minutes and really anticipated hearing nothing when I hit the starter but nope, she cranked right over and she fired right up. I was really suprised that she cranked her right over without a hesitation or even cranking slowly.

That is a pretty good battery for sure but don't be surprised if it just packs up soon.

That is what I am thinking as well but it cranks good and strong and has yet to let me down. If it starts acting up at all I will replace it. I just hate to fix it if it aint broke. I keep knocking on wood too, Thats gotta be good for something right!

Old battery acting up probably means it will open up internally in a nice climbing right hand sweeper on the side of a mountain, roughly 120 miles from home, in the middle of nowhere.
I know this one.

That's GREAT! Mine is also the original '05. To get six years in this Florida climate, is something that even the BEST automotive batteries have NEVER done!, and ALL from the little oh cheap factory battery.
And you may see me tonight

Especially now that you've said something... I hope you knocked on wood after saying that (and THREE TIMES too I might add)!

Oh I definitely knocked on wood! I am just amazed that I have never had an ounce of problems with my battery and it sits over the winter with no maintenance (trickle charger) at all and she sat in an unheated storage unit over the winter. I guess I got the exception and not the rule.

Phenomenal I'm on my third battery in an '05 The 2nd was an AGM that went dead, and wouldn't come back. It was made in Viet Nam. Maybe they no like yankee pig dogs over there and put kimchee in battery?

I have 2 04s and both batteries are working fine still from the factory. I live in NE PA and they are stored in an unheated shed for the winter with no battery tender on them. Last warm day we had last week I fired mine up with no problem.
