Had to go for a ride today, not the kind of ride I enjoy going on. It was to our local church for a funeral. A member of our bike club was out on his bike with his church group 3 weeks ago, They were going for lunch at a picnic area at one of our water storage dams. He came off his bike on one of the bends aproaching the dam and was on a life support for 2 weeks. He passed away on Tuesday of last week. Nobody in the group actually knows what happened to cause the accident, but from all reports we have been given he wasn't concious when he crashed. We are still waiting for the results of the autopsy. Rob had only been riding a few months and really enjoyed his riding. If they have bikes where you are Rob, "Keep riding on"

My condolences Frank, I learnt of a mate of mine that went almost the same way last Sunday, so your mate wont be the only 1 up there on a bike, lots ahead of both of them, and they don't get forgotten

It’s always tough burying a friend, especially when it’s unexpected and tragic circumstances. There are some who say it’s already ordained where and when there things happen. So often you hear of happy and exciting times that abruptly change for the worst imaginable. Everybody looks back on these events and asks them self why, or what if we had done this, or gone there instead, or I wish I had told them that. Unfortunately the harsh reality is we don’t know when, where or who. It’s a good reminder to live life your life well and do what you enjoy doing and celebrate milestones and successes with friends and family. Condolences to you and Rob’s family.

Condolences Frank. Sorry about the loss.
I have no faith in human perfectability. I think that human exertion will have no appreciable effect upon humanity. Man is now only more active - not more happy - nor more wise, than he was 6000 years ago.
