Growing up with my Dad it wasn't unusual in any way for me to come home to find a motorcycle or pieces of one in our livingroom. Recently, my husband started storing his bike in our bedroom. Reminds me of the old days.

I have 13 antique Triumphs , 1 Norton, and 1 BSA parked in what is supposed to be my dining room. Always had a piece of lenolium down in my living room so I could wrench and watch TV.

You guys must have sliding doors for all your entries! I would be happy to just not have a bunch of "stuff" around my garage and work bench!

When I was in my teens I stripped and rebuilt my Bonneville engine on my bedroom floor.

I had an understanding mother. So i thought.

When I was a kid, we lived downstairs is a big ole house, which had a small apartment upstairs. A renter took his Triumph up the stairs in pieces and rebuilt it during the winter months. Late one winter evening, he finished it, but couldn't wait to fire it up for the first time, which he did. My parents thought the ceiling would come down, and they were not amused. (As a small side note, a few years back I wound up working for him and his family for a short time in their business. Totally whacko, disfunctional family, with money. He got into it with his wife and family last year, and burnt down his house, after calling the officials to see if it was legal. He's now in a psych ward.)

I built a Panhead in the livingroom of the apartment we lived in years ago. Don't think I'll do that again 'cause I had to use narrow pullback bars on it instead of the original wide "western" style that I wanted so it would fit through the door.

Welcome to the jungle.
Back in my "younger days" I ended up crashing on a freinds couch. He was building a ford 302 in the livinging room.
Guess what he used as an alarm clock to rid my drunken ****** from his place. Yep the V8 with headers blasting, scared the crap outta me.

No arm twisting required! That's the plan. If you have an extra Triumph sitting around taking up space, Donate it to the cause! That would speed up the process!

Back in the 70's, I knew a guy that built his bike in his dorm room. Probably done by many others back then, but this guy had a 4th floor room. He spent over a year on it and only let a few people know what was going on. When he was finished, he had to sneak it out (RA was a real D!ck). The springer was long enough that he couldn't work it down the stairs. He ended up taking out the 4th floor window and easing it down into the courtyard with ropes (and half the dorm).

Cool! We used ropes to haul a couch up to our upstairs apartment. I'm sure lowering a motorcycle took a bit more skill.

I rode my bike up and down stairs fairly often when I was a youngster, mostly just for fun and because I could. My friend rebuilt a Kawi triple on the 3rd floor of the hotel we lived in. Getting it up there was tough back down was easy. His outside door was on the 2nd floor and then stairs down the outside.

Um, no, and no. Of course I was joking. And it was a compliment. Were I to make the mistake of getting married, to have a wife that was cool with bike parts ANYWHERE in the house would be seriously awesome. That's my way of saying she's a real catch. And I doubt she's a complete newbie to the site. I imagine she's either been lurking around here and/or hearing about the site from you, right? She's practically family already, she just had to sign up.

In closing, lighten up, buddy. It's all good fun around here.

And before you married slobs get your panties in a bunch, I'm only saying that marriage would be a mistake for me, so settled down. And don't gimme that 'just need to find the right one' crap. I'm such a massive dork the 'right one' is rarer than unicorn poop.

And what will you become once you ride your own ride, Julie?

Will the little girl in you come out? I think this would be a predictable outcome!!

Or will you dawn suit of leather thus becoming the world's (or at least Texas') sexiest rider alive? Nah... probably not your style to be so flashy!

No, I think instead you will morph into that which commands the road... a woman that rivals her female (and male) counterparts. Yeah, that's it!!!

Of course, you may just lay down your own track in history as one of those women that dared to dare... a woman worthy of respect amongst her peers, a woman set to raise the bar for motorcyclist in general.

Either way you have my respect and admiration for stepping off the back to a position up front and centre... a leader, not a follower!! Way to go Julie!!!

Live to love, love to live.

I dont blame you its not for every one infact half of the marriages should not have happened at all. So although I am married happily. I am against everyone getting married. Infact I refuse to go to weddings. I say invite me to the divorce, thats when you will need my help. There is no such thing as the right one.

Sorry, I missinterpreted your intensions there John you are as I should have remembered one of the white hats.
