In the news, women are fast accelerating past their men counter parts in both graduating and grades in college. This doesn't surprise me at all. In fact, when I was in college 15 years ago, as a thirty year old student, the large majority of women were obviously over acheiving the "men" in class. (boys, really) In most of my classes, I and a bunch of women sat in the front two rows of the classroom, and most of the boys sat in the rear, making fart noises and dozing. It was sad, really. And there were few exceptions. And one more thing to note, culturally, has anyone thought about the "roles" displayed in situation comedies lately? In the classic sitcoms of the sixties, the man of the family was usually the smart one, the wise and calm breadwinner who came home to settle disputes. The wifes were often silly or ditzy. Think "Lucy". As I peruse the channels today (rarely) I see the typical household comprised of a pretty, smart women who is trying to control her overweight, "childman". I know, I'm just generalizing. But also observing. Get ready men, women are gonna be in charge of things soon!(At work AND at home!)

We are also riding our own bikes. Better watch it with the idea of more time to ride! Might just get run down by wives with Honey Do lists riding our own bikes! Then again...that open road sure is tempting...

What have yall got against women?
I have no faith in human perfectability. I think that human exertion will have no appreciable effect upon humanity. Man is now only more active - not more happy - nor more wise, than he was 6000 years ago.

I often wonder the same thing. I'm amazed the few female members we have stick around.

The manchild thing. I live that. My wife makes much more money then me and she is the only reason I'm prolly not dead or in prison. I love that kooky chick.

Good point. I was also a "non-traditional" 30+ student. I remember a couple just-out-of-high school male classmates commenting upon seeing the female/older guy here-to-get-a-job gaggle you described sitting in the front rows "There goes the curve". I imagine some of those same yutes found themselves in a classroom somewhere "10 Years After" hearing the same comments
I found I did better hanging around people smarter than me. For some reason, that's never been a problem . Now about hanging around ba.com
