Humming birds are to small to eat.
I have no faith in human perfectability. I think that human exertion will have no appreciable effect upon humanity. Man is now only more active - not more happy - nor more wise, than he was 6000 years ago.

Very cool! Kind'a reminded me of when Opie Taylor killed the momma bird with his slingshot, and Andy subtly persuaded him to raise her babies in order to teach him a lesson, as only Andy could. That one never fails to tear me up a bit too. (...yeah, I got a heart...though I hate to admit it!)
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

I have a couple of feeders by my back door step, 5 or 6 of them come and visit. Their eggs must be the size of "tic-tacs".

My wife Lynn would absolutely love being able to raise a humming bird. In a heartbeat!

+1 every late July we get hours of "King of the feeder" and pure aerial combat entertainment from these guys. They are just not afraid of much so you can stand out there and they will fly right up to you.

Brilliant. I particularly like the last shot - close up on the couch - the bird looks cheeky.

so in these feeders you have traps?. When you catch a few dozen you fry them up?
