Well, my bike isn't new anymore. After just 38,000 miles and 8 years, I finally scraped the paint. I was backing it out of the garage and gave the rear fender a good hit against my brick wall. My touch up paint, bought in '03 maybe and used once, was dry as a bone.
Whats the hot ticket on touch up - Triumph or aftermarket? Hopefully with some paint, wet sandpaper and my buffing machine, I can ease the blemish and the shame....

A truck backed in to the front fender of my first TBA. I used a dremel to cut it down and model paint to touch it up where I had made the cut. It turned out good. I used the insurance money to buy saddle bags and easy brackets. You might be able to do the same, just cut it off where the damage is.

What color bike do you have? All red? or red and silver? If red and silver, try a silver scallop along the edge.

Maybe a chrome fender tip will cover it.

It's Cardinal Red. I can fix it with the right touch-up paint. My tube is dried up, I tried applying some with those results.
Is it better to get a Triumph tube or I thought there was an aftermarket vendor that sold factory touch-up paint (like Duplicolor, etc.)?

Some times it's hard to match exact colours, especially 8 year old ones that's been sun faded etc...that's why I mentioned a contrasting colour.

OUCH. I'm thinkin chrome fender tip, its as good an excuse as any to buy chrome, and it might even help ease the pain.

Not got a chrome fender tip but I have put round on both my fenders is a chrome strip which just pushes on . did use a bit of glue to help it stay in place . It was Chrome Edge Trim / Motorcycle Bubble Screen Edge Trim. does cover 6 / 8 mm . would take your eye off the damaged edge and just need a liitle touch up paint then on the exposed part . Got mine of ebay but alot of car shops sell it as well over here. Its bit like the a door strip but not as big so you can go round the curves ok. Also have put some round my tank which cleans up the weld seam. atb geoff

If you know WHICH AND IF it fits, HD fender our fenders would match up to you would be in luck. You can go with a leather mud flap.

Don't think I've seen this yet either?
My paint is not faded, garage queen.
The touch-up paint vendor I was thinking of doesn't sell a color for '02 Triumph (at least not an American)
http://www.colorrite.com/

Here's the factory color code:
CARDINAL RED SCHOCH 673 OME 26
Touch up Part #: T3120300-CL
Guess I'll just pick up another tube of that.
$16 at the Triumph e-store site, but geez, $10 shipping.
I'll just get my local shop to order a tube.

I gave that code to the autobody dude when I had my hardbags painted to match the Cardinal Red. My bike was garage kept with only 2000 km when I bought it shortly before the hardbags. Anyway, the colour didn't match perfectly but was pretty close. The touch up tube sounds like the best way to go for you with only a small patch to repair.
