My bike is shutting off when it hits the rev limiter comes back around 2000 manly when u just start riding doesn't do it near as much after been riding a while 
2005 America 145 mains, , #48 pilots, , k&n pod filters, ported intakes manifolds, nology coils and wires, pro com CDI, 62 HP at wheel 68,000 hard miles still runs great gone "traded"

I can see how you might hit the limiter once or twice but seems like your making a habit of it. Just don't do it.
I guess I have to ask this also....
Ive hit my limiter but as soon as I did I shifted. Never had a problem.
Are you hitting your limiter and letting it bounce or are you letting off and shifting immediately?

If I'm running hard and I am most if the time I run it up just before the limiter and when I shift I'm pulling the clutch in and the shifter up about the same time and I let out on the throttle about 2/3 and it bumps the limiter about one time before I let out on the clutch and that's about the time it cuts out

Get a Procom CDI, you can raise the rev limiter.
