Since around 1968 I've had a buddy I could count on through thick or thin. He's always been there and and always will. And by way of his friendship I became close to his mother, June. Well early this morning, June passed away on her very birthday. Last month she went for open heart surgery... that went well and we all thought she was on her way to many more years of quality life. Then... shortly after returning from the hospital she collapsed with a stroke. A few days later and she's gone.
She was a rock to me as well as to her two sons. I am deeply saddened... she is already dearly missed. My heart goes out to everyone who knew and loved that fine lady. And although many great souls are born everyday (such as my new grandson) the world has suffered a loss.

June Murdoch must have been a very special person who must have touched many a person in a positive manner during her lifetime in order for you to have taken the time to inform us of her passing.
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

I think it was the American Indian that had a belief that a person is never really gone until they are forgotten.
It appears she will be remembered for quite some time to come.

Very sorry to hear that Keith, hard to lose someone close to you. I dread the day I lose my mom.

Thanks to everyone for the caring thoughts. I spent time with her family today... of course it is tough for everyone. But knowing there are people who care really makes a difference. As I said to my dear friend who's mother it was, " I wish there was something I could do." His answer? "Just be my friend, man."

Thanks Dude! Yup, I'm Uncle Keith all right!! And I refer to my friend's daughters as my nieces. That can really throw people off as they try to run the genealogy in their heads (small town musing that is)!
