Has anyone used the Nology Spark Silver Spark Plugs? If so, thoughts? Opinions? Worth the extra few bucks over the NGK Iridium plugs?

I bought them from Eddy. Can't say I noticed anything different. They look sidegapped though.

I put them in after installing the freak, and one thing I noticed is that they are hard to read. I installed the 160 jets that came with the freak, and have TBS needles and 45 pilots installed from previous tinkering and the plugs seems to be shiny white even after 100 km. (I have backfires sometimes though) Maybe they are harder to read because they run hotter than normal plugs?

IMO the only way a spark plug is going to make more power (assuming a comparison of new plugs to new plugs) is if they take up more volume in the combustion chamber thereby raising the compression ratio. That said, I currently run NGK IX's in mine because they should retain full performance over a longer service interval. I previously experimented with side-gapped/wide-gapped conventional plugs vs. full-electrode conventional plugs & found no power difference.

If they are anything like so called hi performance plugs for cars ,I can say that they will add nothing to the performance of a bike.

Is a "hi po" plug really about adding horsepower or is it about burning fuel more efficiently and utilizing the stronger spark for a smoother idle and better response!?!?!?!

For me its the latter. Ive done similar upgrades with cars and have seen/felt a difference. Thats what prompted the latest upgrade.

Soren. I cant say how much of a diff the plugs made as I added the coils and wires at the same time...I do feel a slightly better throttle response and easier revs. Im happy. Its what I expected.

I opted for the Nology plugs over the Iridium for the silver in the Nology plugs....its simply a better conductor. Im curious how fast they will wear out tho. They should wear much faster than the Iridiums.

There was a time when a spark plug was a spark plug. Music, at least... has always been complicated!!

Spark plugs also have different heat ranges, some with longer insulators and some with shorter insulators(from the gap tip to where it goes to the threaded part) There was a saying when I was younger "Hot cars use cold plugs" they help dissipate the heat quicker.

I agree it isn’t about more power, but being more fuel efficient and having better response.

I've been using the Nology coils and wires for several years now and have liked them. But, I have also been running the NGK Iridium plugs. I didn’t even notice that Nology had plugs until a few days ago.

I think I just might order a set and see how it goes.

So I went ahead and ordered two sets. One for my bike and one for Laurie's bike. She still has the stock coils on her bike, so I'm more curious to what difference they make on her bike.

Here in Oregon we use that E-10 garbage gas year round, so we probably need the best/most spark we can get.

I've never even heard of these plugs before I read this. I have used NGK Iridium and regular plugs without ever noticing any difference in power, torque or fuel consumption.

I quess we have such a high quality gas around here so it makes no difference how to ignite it?

I got the spark plugs in the mail today. I must have gotten the good ones, Right on the box it says:
Quote:

For increased horsepower, use Nology Silver, the best spark plugs in the world.

Stop playing around with iridium and platinum spark plugs and get serious with silver spark plugs

I have been running them in my bike for about 3 summers. Thought I would give them a try and they seem to work just as good as anything else so kept on using them. Plug color seems to run a little leaner with the same carb setup as I was running with stock and iridium plugs.

Does that mean they are extremely efficient at burning all the fuel?
