ME thinks I did a Boo Boo and turned the ignition on while one of the connectors (ECU?) was disconnected...Now I have a constant Check Engine light. Anyway to reset without going to the Dealer? (3 on/off cycles, stand on head, face east and whistle...etc)??? Thanks.

Yup, 3 hot/cold cycles and it should auto reset, or if somebody near you has an ODBII diagnostic tool that can reset the DTC.
I've done the same thing. I have to remember to always disconnect the battery before disconnecting anything.

Thanks, Hyates. I thought that may be the trick. Any idea how long on/off constitutes a "cycle"?
I've tried a few variations so far with no joy. On the old TT it was "wait till the fan kicked on"...not so much with the new Speedy.
Thanks again!

3, 6, 9 cycles...still on. Anyone have a clue? Only new thing on has been the K&N filter.

Have you tried disconnecting the battery for a few minutes? Works on my wife's car.

I know on some cars, if you disconnect BOTH the Pos. and the Neg. cables from the battery touch the two cables together then reattach the cables back to the battery, will clear some engine codes. As long as you don't have some back up battery still hooked up some where all is good.

Arrggghhh. No luck with either approach. Looks like a trip to the dealer next week. Thanks for the advice none the less.

Do the EFI bikes have an OBDII connector? If so, you can get an inexpensive code scanner like a Toptak TP-150 & clear the code.

Yup, there is a standard ODBII connector under the seat. The warm/cold cycles are defined by oil temperature I believe, so you pretty well have to ride the machine normally to get the oil nice and hot, and then let it cool down to pretty much cold. I'd like to get this: http://dealertool.web.officelive.com/default.htmA Tune-Boy is something that is beyond what I require, but the Dealer Tool will work well for basic maintenance as you can adjust the throttle bodies with this as well as read and clear the codes.
