I have no spark on my left cylinder . The coils check good. Would it be the CDI? I want to get the bike fixed as soon as possible I will order the Procom if it is. Can someone please help me?

Reverse the coils... still no spark on l/side? likely bad CDI. I'd check the gap on the ignition sensor first just to be sure though.

Put the left coil on the right side and the right on the left... if the miss did not move with the coils, you are assured they are indeed good.
Triumph revised the specifications on the pick up coil air gap a few years back to address driveablity issues such as yours. The new spec is .8 mm (.813 mm on my feeler gauge) it might not help but it sure can't hurt.
By the way, I have recently come into possession of a stock 02 CDI should one be needed.

I did switch the coils and they are good. I ordered the procom I still don't know if I need to drain the oil to check the gap sensor. Does anyone know if the procom works ok on an 02

Also Chy I might be interested in the 02 CDI that you have if the price is right.

No Edward, you don't have to drain the oil when taking off the stator cover. Do the job with the bike leaning on it's kick stand and no oil will leak out. When you do pull the cover, you will feel a fair bit of resistance from the magnets in there. Just pull hard enough and off she comes.

I've just been through the igniter change....out of the box, the procom is very different from the original triumph part....it does not tolerate low voltage, so a marginal battery will need to be replaced, and its default map is much different than that of the triumph part....since I've been macintosh all of my computer life, I'm still looking for a gearhead/pc laptop user to aid in the installation of a better map - but on the bright side, it now starts and runs!
