What engine do you have? 790 or 865? Also, you will get quite a number of different mains and pilots mentioned. What works for you is what matters. One thing. If your performance increases as you increase jet size don't stop changing them when you think you have reached that magic seat of the pants feeling. Verify with a dino, A/F ratio tester, or acceleration test (full throttle to above 5000/6000 rpm in 4th then back off throttle a bit. If bike speed picks up, you are still too lean on the mains).
My 790 runs 135 mains, TBS needles, 42 pilots, 3 turns on idle screws. Short TORS (straight throughs) and snorkels (3) removed. Top filter cover opened up to filter size. Runs really well, but I will be tinkering some more with 45 pilots and Thruxton needles and smaller mains but too lazy now. Bike runs too well.
Getting tired of posting these numbers..... You might want to check Dinqua's website in the Tech vault under CARBS.

Yeah, you've basically typed out the same thing a few times recently Greg... and one of those times was for me. Thanks again. Btw, did I tell you I did run that little road test of yours? Yup, after I put the snorkel back in I ran it and there was no discernible difference in engine response.
So yeah Philip, run Greg's acceleration test and let your bike tell you what it needs.
Live to love, love to live.

From any Triumph dealer. I suggest that you go with the Thruxton needles, though.

I like the thruxton needles too. Heaps of mid range compared to stock with one shim.
To take advantage of my setup I'm now thinking an airbox removal kit and DNA pods but have a couple of wiring and brake projects first.
My only problem is I like the cheese cutters. I'll try yo work out a way to keep them somehow.
Staintune Pipes, K&N Pods, 45 pilots, TBS needles and 145 mains.

I installed the second shims today to my Thruxton needles. Still works great. 125 mains, 42 (stock) pilots, bellmouth, no snorkel and K&N filter, and long TB pipes including great sounds.
+1 for the Thruxton needles!

Just removed my carbs today and I found 128 mains & 45 pilots, Like I said said before my bike is a 02 america 790, the secondary air injection system removed using the K&N single filter, the top is opened to match the filter and of course on snorkle, and running D&D pipes. I live in pittsburgh Pa. ele. around 800 ft. I used Dinqua's calculater and it said to use 132.5 mains and 42 pilots at sea level and at 1000 to 2000 ft. to use 132 mains and 42 pilots. Anybody have any suggestions on which ones I should be using??????? I'm not doubting the calculater, but I live inbetween sea level and 1000 ft. which ones. Also the web sites I have gone to don't seam to have Jets in the .5 size???

I would go with the 132's.Was that with the NEW Jet Cal.? The old cal.,I was told, would be on the slightly rich side. How many turns out are your air mixture screws? If your only out ~ 1 turn, I'd go back to the 42's IT'S Better to be slightly on the rich side than lean!!

I think given where you are and the set up you have you will probably want about 130 main and keep the 45 pilot.
