Last night my mother passed away. She will be truly missed by me, my brother and our families. It's strange that even if this was expected, it still hits you like a sledge hammer.

Take care of your family and friends and tell them you love them...

Bengt

Sorry to hear that you're Mum died last night Bengt. Sounds like you knew it was coming., which we think won't be such a shock. Like myself some years ago though, I felt exactly the same because I too thought I was as prepared as mentally as I could be but like you say it hit you like a sledge hammer, which is a shock in itself isn't it?

Grieving is many times a personal experience, and when it's all said only much time filled pain helps heal.

I'll be thinking of you and your families tomorrow as I sit in front of my bike and put that mud flap on my bike cos whilst this might sound silly, I now now realise even though you were preparing for the inevitable you were still on here helping us Aussies and Kiwis by posting pics of your bike and links to the seller amongst other things.

Your a good bloke Bengt and on behalf of us here down under, I and we send our condolences to you at this painful time in your life.

All the best mate and I hope it's not too long before perhaps a sense of relief washers over you knowing your mum is now not suffering anymore and is in a better place.

All the best
Staffo

I'm sorry to hear of your loss. Losing a mother is tough. Even now, almost twelve years after she passed, I find myself wishing I could speak with my Mom, share something or ask her for her thoughts.

We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.

I am not trying to hijack your post, but I know exactly what you mean. At 12:25am today my Mom passed away as well. It will be very hard to imagine her not being around. She literally was the glue that held our family together. The worst part of it for me is that I am over 700 miles from land working on a Naval Research ship in the Atlantic Ocean. Thankfully my two Sisters and two Brothers were there when she went.

So, yes take care of your family and friends and tell them you love them.

Tom

Thank you all for your thoughts and sympathies. Even if we've never met and most of us probably never will, this really helps in a special way.

And Tom, my thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family as well.

Sorry to hear of both losses. It is a sad day indeed. Sincere condolences to both of you Bengt and Tom.

I lost both of my parents last year (and my mother in law) Mom was unexpected, Dad was not, and I can tell you that and once the shock of the unexpected wears off, for me the grief was the same either way.

Was just on the phone with my mom, losing her is my greatest fear. I don't know how I could continue life without her to talk to. I feel for both of you and hope the pain becomes less with time but fear the empty spot will always be there.

Bengt, Tom, you both have my sympathy. I know exactly what you are going through. Strange that now not a day goes by without thought of my mom, before she died it was just life as usual. It sucks that I find myself second guessing things that I did in the past and thinking I could have done differently... sorry for the rambling, I just know it's tough...
