I did a custom paint job on the tank, fenders, cover and reupholstered the seats for a custom look. But now I'm bored with the look. I will add pics as I go

Lower front 2+ inches, spring seat
Removed air box, AI system, front fender, replacing rear fender with hand built fender, adding new swing arm (lengthened)
21x4 front wheel, drag bars, customize existing tank, big bore kit, full hydraulic suspension, eliminate gauge pod on tank, add custom one off intake, add more as we go.

Btw... did you happen to notice that while you were busy taking pictures, someone was stealing your license plate?

I was wondering were that license plate went!!
For the exhaust ; I am rerouting the header pipes to one side then use class pack mufflers(car 3").....pipes will be heat wrapped to mufflers and they will be powder coated.

Oh, now that's gonna be cool! Love the idea of piping out to one side!

At this point I have it designed to run the exhaust out the right side , chain side...if I go to a wider swing arm then I will go on the other side with the exhaust....so many ideas and only one bike...guess I'll have to buy another America or speedy...haha

Added drag bars, putting rear fender on until I finish the extra swing arm. Going to go back to hard tail till swing arm is finished. Would like to ride with this sun shine.

Sorry for the picture problems.....I made changes on my photobucket and it deleted the pics on this tread....
Picture below is w/ new handlebars, drag style...meant for Harley so had to drill out the existing holes to 1/2" and then oblong holes an extra 1/4+ on each side...lowered front 2" by removing fork covers and raising each fork...personally like the look better..will be adding 21" wheel.

Top pic I'm making a seat pan to fit in between frame, this pan will be temporary until new swing arm is done and then will use spring seat...

Unsure of were I want to end the fender...any thoughts are welcome..
The fender location will probably stay the same even after adding the new swing arm. Only the seat & suspension will change...
Next pics the fender is in a new location.
Still shaping fender, when done there will be 5/16" between fender and tire...fender is 8" wide...eventually will go to wider better looking tire (budget)

Yeah...your the only one to see that...I bought the bike from a salvage dealer that bought it from an auction....he only fixed what he had to so he could ride it...really meant nothing, he rode it for about 100 miles with ripped seat, lots of scratches, broken speedo case, broken headlight...I saw the bike shortly after he got it and thought it would be a great bike to custom...so I bugged him and he sold it to me...it an 07 it had under 1000 miles and it was ridable, I paid $1200 as is...great deal..I fixed the scratches, new paint added new headlight, new speedometer and reupholstered the seats (which really didn't need it but looked good with the paint)
The only thing that was broke and not fixed was the clutch Leaver...still works and planned on replacing it on this go round...long answer to your question but fills in a lot about my bike...still looking for the original pics after it had been laid over....

Got new awesome grips, fat bobber style...had to modify controls to make the throttle grip fit inside...just alittle filing of the aluminum and adjust cable and there perfect....also started the next step in my suspension endeavour...was using dual air ride but now I switched to mono rigid mount until I switch the swing arm out and then back to mono air ride...of course then I have to redo the fender...but that's what it is all about...here are pics as I go...

The bracket used is 2" tube stock. I cut the top out part way so I could add the top link (used for 3 point hitch on tractors)....was going to just make ears and weld them to the swing arm, but the swing arm is not strong enough so that's why I chose to use the tube stock...more weld surface and stronger...then added a 1" flat stock across for a fender mount and to stiffen the tube stock that I cut out. Now I will cut off the upper shock mounts to clean up the frame...can't wait to finish the new swing arm...but will ride the bike this way for awhile, until all other parts are done like the new swing arm and then can just take off the old and add the new and keep on riding...

Did you weld the swing arm to the frame?

No I used an adjustable top link from 3 point hitch on a tractor...I drilled thru the down tube that's under the tank bolt...the top link is normal thread on one side and reverse thread on the opposite side..top part of link is bolted to the down tube and welded bracket to the swing arm and then bolted thru

Wow... that's some pretty serious hackin' and cuttin' going on there. Gawd... I just wouldn't have the nerve to make the first cut. But do something about the rear fender? I'd take that on. I like the way yours follows the arch of the tire.

Still don't quite understand what you did with the swingarm.. Interesting stuff. Thanks for the pictures!!

Got more to cut...going to cut off the upper shock/ strut mount next...my spring seat won't fit...and I'm trying to keep it as low as I can...I will show more details soon...plus this is all going to change with the new swing arm...or unless I buy another America or speedy

The rear fender I bought new from tracktor supply..its a trailer fender..but had to shape it to fit the radius of the tire...it has that dragster look...was going to bod the fender, but my wife likes it this way..so I'll leave it this way for now...the fender supports are solid square stock and welded to a nut that I made fit over the lower shock mount...it was a last minute design but it came out great...to mount to the fender, I drilled and taped the mount.

Like your top link idea.Different, looks good.Lots of mods, but it makes me think of checking with Hagon shocks and having a single shock made to go in that spot.I ran the spring seat on mine for awhile.Recently switched back to the touring seat.Bikes lookin great.

Consider bringing them to a point (as I stated in another thread in which you appear). Just imagine that from a profile view... would look pretty cool!!
