Yep. The state is going broke after years of out-of-control spending under the previous administrations. So they increased the registration to try & balance the budget on our backs.

Florida's doubled as well. Cost me $169 for the truck, car, and 1 bike. Glad they don't factor in the longer riding season.

Ya know, I have a trailer, a motorcycle, and a truck. I get 3 separate slips in 3 separate envelopes, every year.
Doesnt that sound rediculously inefficent?
I wonder how much they'd save if there was just 1 slip coming in the mail?
Just a list of each vehicle you own with an astronomical total at the bottom.
I cant imagine how much additional paperwork a guy with a boat, jet ski, four wheeler, RV and a motorcycle for the wife, would generate.
All this crap, just so most of the population can pay it on the internet anyway.
trying to keep politics out of this, whats done is done and it wont ever change.

Yeah, if you renew your registration over the internet they charge you a CONVENIENCE FEE on top of everything. That's not very convenient! You would think they'd knock off a couple of bucks since I'm not cluttering up their DMV office standing on line!

IL costs went up this year too. Gotta fill the politicians' pockets somehow! Just remember, government is a business too!
