Okay, here's the deal... when you find a picture you want to post:

a) right-click on the thing and choose 'Copy Image Location.'

b) While posting, click on 'Image'... it's there amongst other stuff just below and to the right from where you're typing under the heading 'Instant UBB Code.'

c) A little window pops up. Right-click followed by 'paste.' You just pasted in the Image Location. Hit 'OK' and ya got it. (won't show up as a pic until you preview your post or submit it)

Simple as abc. By following these steps I got this pic from your photobucket page (nice friggin' bike btw).

There are variations on this theme however, the variation being step 'a.'

1) First variation. Using your slide show as an example (the one in your sig) let me point out that it runs in webapp called Flash. Within flash ya can't do the 'a' thing. Sooooo, I got outta your slide show by clicking on 'back to main view.' Then step 'a' worked on the picture of my choice, followed by steps 'b' and 'c.'

2. Another variation. When you are logged into your photobucket account, if you hover your mouse over a picture some stuff shows up underneath. Click on 'direct link,' copy the stuff there (right-click). Then go to steps 'b' and 'c' above.

Do this once or twice and you're a pro!! Happy pic posting!!!

I think you have an invalid URL and you have two (2) http's in your URL

You're almost there Bryn. Steven is right... look at your post and you will see http:// repeated twice. That's because when you clicked in 'Image' the little window that popped up already had 'http://' in it. Then you pasted your URL which also starts with 'http://.' Either delete that 'http://' in the Image popup or paste right over top of it.

Here's your picture. And here's what got pasted in the little Image window. http://i1023.photobucket.com/albums/af352/brindle_bucket/newbaby.jpg Notice the difference between what I got by right clicking compared to what you got. I right-clicked and used 'Copy Image Location.'

Ok, I'll try again

http://s1023.photobucket.com/albums/af35...pg&newest=1

Well, I've got it as a clicky, and as I don't get the option 'copy image location' when I right click the picture maybe thats all I'll get

But thanks for the help guys, especially you Keith, now to find things to bore you all with

When you do it right, it should look like this:

Code:
  [image]http://i1023.photobucket.com/albums/af352/brindle_bucket/newbaby.jpg[/image]

...which results in this:

Problem is, you're not getting the right URL. You're taking it from the location/address bar:

Code:
http://s1023.photobucket.com/albums/af352/brindle_bucket/?action=view&current=newbaby.jpg&newest=1

Which is not the "direct" image location, it's the page that the image is loaded in.

If you right-click the image above and from the little menu that pops up you select "Copy Image Location" or something similar depending on the browser you're using, you'll get the right image location. That right-click trick also works on Photobucket.

The useable only option I get by right clicking the picture is 'copy shortcut', which then needs a slight adjustment to get to a clicky, with no adjustment its just a line on words on the submitted post.
But a clicky is still an improvement, and its not as if I'll put mucky pictures in photobucket

I've got bored with that picture, so heres a new one
[image]http://s1023.photobucket.com/albums/af352/brindle_bucket/?action=view&current=Picture003.jpg&newest=1[/image]

before adjustment

after adjustment

If you look in the box to the left of the picture labeled "share this image" the fourth option is "IMG Code". Click that (left-click) and it will copy to your clipboard. Then paste it here:

Viola!

Just one last thing, when you do as I instructed you don't need to use the image link when creating a post, just paste in what Photobucket gave you. That's why you have [ image ] [ /image ] tags around your photo above. In essence you're doubling up, like this:

Code:
[image][image]http://i1023.photobucket.com/albums/af352/brindle_bucket/Picture003.jpg[/image][/image]

I have always had to manually delete those image tags. Let me try it...

OK, it works.
Is there a way to make the pictures smaller? This one worked out, but sometimes I try to post one that is bigger than the screen. Have to scroll back and forth to see it.

The picture has to be made smaller at the source... photobucket for example. Resizing cannot be done here.
