Ok, so obviously I am a total Newby here. First post was to ask about accessories and totally skipped that little tab that would have taken me to the right place.

So ok then, HI All! I'll introduce myself now. MsChevious has been my nickname a while now...have a habit of being a bit of a brat and sometimes a little bit of a prankster, so the nickname has followed me since high school. I figure running is not a sport unless you have picked on someone enough that you now have the adrenaline rush of running for your life from them to avoid the thumping you know you deserve!

I've been in love with motorcycles since I was a kid, but only bought my first motorcycle in 2006. Really loved my little shadow, but then met my husband (Soren) and found out about Triumph from him, and been hooked ever since. (Both on him, and Triumph motorcycles ) He says this is a good place to learn more about them, so I'm here!

I'm buying an 06 America which is all black (My favorite on motorcycles) and has floorboards, Windshield and bags. The only thing I'm certain I want to change on it is the mirrors. Wondering if I should switch to pegs or a heel toe shifter, but will ride as is for a while first. Everything else is great. Well...at least for now. My friends joke that I don't like bling-bling on my body but I sure seem to like it on my bike. Might be some truth in that too. I really enjoy dressing up my ride and keeping it shiney. It's the girley side of me. ;-)

Anyway, Guess that gives you a little bit of an idea about me.

Hello and welcome to the site. You'll find you're not the only prankster here, and jokers to boot. A great site for pics, mods, and occassionally a good buy in the classifieds. A wealth of knowledge on every aspect of the BA and Speedies. Right now, most of the riders here are suffering from cabin fever, being stuck inside and all. Even those of down south (rain). But, soon, like migrating ducks they'll be on the road again. Enjoy the site and check out the past articles. Most every question has been answered a slew of times. Quick search will get you most answers. Others are a simple post away. Stay with the pegs for a while. You may find some riders that you may be able to swap with and try before you buy. Pegs, boards, wings, stillettoes and such are a many splintered thing here. So cruise and peruse. Enjoy

And a formal WELCOME to ya Laurie... you're in for a ride (pun intended) by signing up here! As I said in your other thread there is bunches of good stuff here. But ya might as well be let in on a sort of code of ethics here and that is, show pics of your bike... especially when you're introducing it to us for the first time. Otherwise you'll get harassed to the point of tears so just avoid that whole mess and show us some pictures of your new ride.

Love your handle... good to have you here!

Live to love, love to live.

Hi Mschevious1, welcome to the forum. have a 06 america myself and have to say its the best bike i've ever had. like you I thought the stock mirrors were a bit bland so changed them for the large tear drop mirrors from British customs, huge difference in the look of the bike. ( in my opinion anyway ) other changes planned, but haven't told She who must be obey'ed

Welcome! A black 2006, eh? Nice choice, but has anyone talked to you about the virtues of Blue & White?

ThomWill, I was really fond of the blue on blue America they came out with for 2010, but unless I win the lottery (Never mind I never remember to play) it's a bit out of reach. I've got a contract signed with this guy to have the America for the same as I'm selling the Honda for. I've just always been fond of black bikes. ;-) Kind of partial to black cars too.
I also love the chrome of the Americas.

Poor Soren, He has to put up with me at home and here too. ;-) Ah well, at least I'm just joining the site with my own bike on the way, and not stealing his like I'd planned. Hee hee! For some strange reason he wouldn't trade me bikes. Can't understand why.

I had been on a forum with my shadow but once I fell for Triumphs I felt funny even thinking about buying anything new for my Shadow.

Came here expecting to drop in rather casually noticed and you guys pegged me fast! Now I'm going to have to be more outspoken to be able to establish my identity. :-P

The black ones are special because they are the only ones that come with colour matched side cover
