Always remember to be yourself. Unless you suck. Then pretend to be someone else.

I have floor boards on a 2011 America. My hips cramp on long rides and the heel shifter is virtually worthless for me because I cannot lift my heel enough to utilize it. I also have difficulty getting the toe of my boot under the toe shifter, although I can manage to do so. Has anyone made adaptations that might solve this problem? If I could just mount a toe shifter (only) it would help a lot and allow me to rest my left foot on the rear edge of the left floor board like I do on the right. Is there a toe shifter available that is compatible with the OEM left floorboard? Has any one just cut off the heel shifter?

You can adjust the shifter lever by loosening the lock nuts on the shifter rod and turn it to shorten the shifter rod. On the heel toe shifter, your toe steps on the front (toe) part, and then you step on the rear (heel) part, Your toe isn't designed to "up" shift with the heel toe shifter. It all depends on how much room you have between your shifter and floor board and if you keep the heel toe shifter (can you bend the heel side up a little?,remove it from the bike first before trying to bend it!)

When I did the changes to Wendys bike because she was so short I took the arm off the shift shaft coming out of the primary case and moved it to gain enough adjustment to get the position desired.

Dang! I've been eating the wrong peoples' brains. I'll try both remedies given so far. Thanks
