Well, this was a fun place for sure. The brewpub is located downtown in San Diego in the gaslamp district. The service was great, ask Bill about Beaker, and the beer was enjoyable.
We had their sample platter of beers which consisted of:
- Pelican Light Ale - Too light for my tastes but nice and malty.
- Point Break Pale Ale - A nice example of the style.
- Regatta Red - Their most popular brew with the regulars.
- Coronado Nut Brown Ale - Sweet and nutty.
- Sunset Stout - Served with nitrogen mix.
- IPA - Hoppy
My overall impression: The beers were all very drinkable, but all a bit light on body. They have a consistent flavor between them and are not bad for the mass brewing they do to please the regulars and the huge tourist crowd that inhabit the area. A very fun atmosphere and lots of excitement.
