I just purchased a set of ricor intiminators, and I have a question for those who have installed them. I'm not doing the job for a few weeks but I thought I would see if the imtiminators fit inside the fork ok. I pulled the spacer out and put the intiminator inside while still holding on to it, I would have thought it would be a snuggish fit but I found that the intiminator didnt touch the sides and there was a tiny bit of slop is this usual. thanks

They should be fine, I have installed 4 sets now. But if you have concerns, email Ricor directly. brian@ricorshocks.com

They should be snug, not tight and not have any slop. I have installed 3-4 sets.

Thankyou Ryk and Zmilin for your advice, I went in and had a closer look after work today, when I first put the intiminator in the fork around the thread area there was slop but a peek further down the fork reveals that the fork gets narrower, I moved the intiminator up and down and it is touching all the way around, I wouldnt call it a real firm fit but still snug. I have heard that the spacer or pvc tube (which ever you use) needs to cut down to compensate for the intiminator yet the instalation instructions make no mention of this..any thoughts.

Cut off the same amount of spacer tube as the valve body will take up. That directive was in the install directions, or at least it used to be. To be honest, I quit reading the instructs, after I installed the first set. Also, it's best to remove the forks and cycle them upside down to expel as much of the old oil as possible, I give them an internal diesel rinse as well, and let drip. Tried them once with progressive springs too, went right back to OEM. It's the best fork upgrade I have found, without going to upside down Ohlins and spending some serious time and money.
