Hello all, Picked up this 2003 Bonneville America (7200 mi) this last October and managed to ride it quite a bit until the winter rains settled in over western Washington. I was on the watch for another bike for years, but nothing really peaked my interest 'til I saw an America rolling down the road. It took another 6 months to find one, but finally got lucky. Here's to looking forward to a sunny day again.

Welcome Michael! Yep, Caspian Blue...one of the very best colors these babies ever came in! Enjoy, dude!
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

Welcome Michael If you want to ask a question there's bound to be someone here to answer it. Even if it's been asked before, it's still new to you

Welcome Michael! Love the bike you have there... now THAT'S a keeper! Meanwhile and just to let you know, if you want to meet a bunch of the crazies... I mean people from here, think about coming up to God's country for the 10th annual Kootenay RAT Raid. Of course there's normal people that attend the event too so either way you'll fit right in. Kootenay RAT Raid
Live to love, love to live.

Thanks for the welcomes all. For those Nwesterners out there - any recommendations for a good mechanic around W Washington? I have a mind to get her checked out - it looks like a couple baffles were taken out, which looks to have been very cleanly, and I'd like to know if it's been rejetted to account for that. It pops some on the deceleration and I'm curious if that is normal or not. Of course, I can also wait til a ride to see what the consensus is then.

We have plenty of PNWers around here, but I'm sure odatbob would recommend Tacoma Triumph (not sure what the official name is). I stopped in there (to meet Bob for a ride) about a year and a half ago and they seemed really cool. But I didn't have them do any work for me.

Tacoma Triumph is the preferred if your not able to do you own wrenching. I90 is where I got my bikes but their service dept is always backed up. Tacoma Triumph is only Triumph where I90 is a multi dealer.
You can also dig into her yourself and ask here. Theres a lot of knowledge on this board.

Popping on decel isn't bad if its minimal. So how bad is it?
