Has anyone seen an aftermarket set of single wall headers for the TBA? I would rather have the classic bluing of the header pipes than the cheesey shrouded stock set. They just don't do it for me.

Hi Steve,
I don't mind bluing too much either, as long as it's on the low end of the "chrome quality" spectrum. I'd like the dual walls we have if the chrome was decent. It reminds me of the early import bicycles from the orient. I had a Yamaha TX650A with an "orange peel" paint finish that was shinier (or more shiny, shined more) than my header chrome. I will try a good polish job and may opt for a new set of headers from Specialty Spares, when available.

Just for the record...the headers on the TBA & Speedmaster are stainless. They polish up nice & if you need to get rid of the Blue, try "bluejob" it's a paste that will get rid of yellow & blue.

no there are no "aftermarket" headers yet, just slipons.

New headers for the Americas and Speedmasters are on the way from specialty spares. Look for them in early summer. www.specialtyspares.com Also available in about three weeks are TT pipes for the Bonneville, T100 production is almost complete and they are off to the platers.

What about the billet end caps for the long/short cannons? Anybody know when these will be ready?

The billet end caps are in production also and should be ready by late spring or early summer.

Just keep running the bike without the AI removed and they'll blue-up real nice!

Hi Tom,
I removed my AI at 26,000 miles. The pipes had no blue on them at all at that time. Of course, my left mix screw was 2 turns out and my right one was bottomed out the whole time from the factory, I just didn't know to check.
Maybe it was the shrouded header? I imagine that on the standard Bonnevilles and T100s, this would be a reason for quick bluing.
