Thinking of investing in new exhaust, and would like to have the option of removing the baffles from time to time. Which exhaust system would be the best, without having to rejet after removing the baffles?

What's your purpose? If it is to make a lot of noise, the baffles in the Specialty Spares can be removed with one screw or you can remove the packing around the baffle. They would be pretty loud with either of these mods. For the bike to run well, I'd bet you would need to rejet but if your goal is just to be loud this would work. If you are removing to drag race on the weekend, a rejet would definitely be required. If this is your goal, Bella Corse has a new set of thumb-screw carb scews that allow for quick rejets or changes during tuning.

Putting the baffles back in and lining up the fastener hole is a little tricky, don't think I'd want to do it with too much frequency.

Amy,

I've been where you're at. In the hope of saving you both the circuitous route & the expense (that I had), I counsel you to get the "Staintune slashcuts." The price of them is a bit daunting, - but, by polishing your pennies a bit longer I believe you'll not regret it.

With their removable baffle system (meeting government noise standards while in & and sounding "but-bad" while out), the Staintune pipes are the best of both worlds.

Just my opinion,

-BT

PS - Take a look at them at http://www.staintune.com.au/

"Speedmaster" is a title not a name, - and the title is not plural.

Thanks for all the responses. My husband appreciates the suggestions, since its for his future reference when he gets his TBA or Speedy. The Staintune slashcuts sound like the best. The club we belong too like the loud sound and when we are on long highway rides, the quiet is nice to have.

I now have a question. My husband has a chance to purchase a 2003 Red TBA, identical to mine, with only 100 miles on it, for the outrageous sum of $6000. Should he go for it? His only hesitation is that it looks just like mine. He doesn't want to look like the 'bobsie twins'. He is leaning towards a Speedy right now though.

Thanks again, Amy

I'd hate to sell my 03 for 6,000. With only 100 miles on it i would't hesitate to buy it if it struck my fancy.

To anybody out there w/ Sceptres or Thunderbike pipes:
I would like to know what the inside diameter and length of the baffles are. I'm planning on modifying my modified pipes. Dinqua...are you out there?

Go with the Specialty Spares slash cut or long cannons. Best price, very high quailty, killer sound and removeable baffles. www.specialtyspares.com

I'm pretty particular about components on my bike and am very pleased with the Specialty Spares Long Cannons, particularly given their price.
