Let's see, the #1 listed in my home town - right in front of the Jr High my kids went to, and there is a elementary school right next to it. About of 1/4 mile of obvious school zone - yeah, that's a real sneaky one alright.

Another one on the first page is right in front of the school my very autistic son attends.

I think I'll go take some Xmas cheer for Olathe's finest.

Seems to me that people consider anywhere that they got a ticket to be a "speed trap".

I have a much narrower definition.

If you're exceeding the clearly posted limit and get caught, it's not a speed trap. T.S.

It's only a trap where you unknowingly speed (missing, hidden, or obscured sign) or are unable to slow down fast enough for a limit change.

Still, it's nice to know the areas that produce the most income for the fuzz.

Right on. I hold school zone speeders in the same contempt that I hold drunk drivers.

Here in Queensland Australia they have road signs outside schools that tell you the speed limit on that stretch of road, and at what times. (ON school days only)

Generally in town the limit is 40 KPH.

Bigest problem is that depending in which part of the state you are in the times are different.

It gets a little confusing.

In my local area they are 7.30 to 9.00am. and 2.30 to 4.00pm.

I was away in the South of the state about 6 weeks ago and they were 7.00 to 8.30am. and 2.00 to 3.30pm.

It would be a good idea if they had some kind of flashing lights during school zone times.

or where they build a bridge that mimics an on ramp to the super slab and its just a residental turn off bypass the feeder goes over some intersecting road. and they don't post a speed limit sighn but post one that says US 59 with an arrow pointing up the ramp. When you get to the top no freeway entrace but a cop sitting there.

I have no faith in human perfectability. I think that human exertion will have no appreciable effect upon humanity. Man is now only more active - not more happy - nor more wise, than he was 6000 years ago. Edgar Allan Poe
