Bonneville America Forums Forums Technical Forums Exhaust New Thruxton, blue with 1 mile??

Went to House of Power in Melbourne, Fl the the other day, and looked over the new Truimphs there. Was very surprised to see the headers on a new Thruxton, 1.2 mi. blued down to the 2nd bend!! I know they aren't double walled, but new on the showroom floor?? That has to be tough, selling a bike that is in that condition.

Total Bummer about those pipes....but if bike is equiped with standard air injection emissions stuff TRIUMPH nominaly uses, I for one, am not to surprised by that!

They turn blue the instant they fire them up at the factory, so they say. Just the way of the beast.

I brought one home today and the pipes were blued pretty far down with only 1.3 miles on it. No big deal; the headers are headed to preformance coatings in Auburn WA in about a week for a nifty black ceramic coating inside and out for about $100.
