Stopped in British-USA Friday to have some speedo bulbs replaced (thought they would be covered by warranty - NOT!).

Anyway, since I've returned home, I hear the speedo "clicking" every time I roll the bike forwards or backwards. Quite audible, actually. Everything seems to be working okay (speedo, odo, trip), but the sound bothers me, as I know it was not there before.

Any ideas?

I can only think of 3 things,

1. They put in the wrong bulbs and they are toughing something they shouldn't,
2. The drive cable adapter was misassembled when they put it all back together. Hmmm, 2 1/2, they lost one of the screws and put in one that is too long.
3. They managed to kink the cable.

First I'd go with Greybeards #2 and you can easily take it apart and make sure the thing's aligned properly. If not that, take the back off and make sure they didn't do #2-1/2. Both those two have some serious damage potential. I'd also make sure the asshat that changed the bulbs knows how pleased you are with his ability to change a bulb. Don't let that SOB do ant valve work!!!

Thanks for the input. I'll take a look next Saturday, most likely. You know - a Friday after Thanksgiving kind of seems like a Saturday - and yeah, they were busy. Still not much excuse for not being able to change out a bulb correctly. Had I known it wasn't covered, I'd have never gone there for that. Lexus covers bulbs for 4 years/50000 miles - and yes I do realize I didn't give $40k for this SM. Just seems that a 24 month unlimited mileage warranty would cover most anything except brakes and tires (things that are expected to wear out). I checked the warranty after I got home and bulbs are excluded. My bad.
