Howdy gang. Long time - no post. But I've been thinking about you. Here's my lastest offering for you TBA owners seeking taller handlebars that bolt-on using stock cables, wires and brake hose:

BellaCorse Highlander Handlebars

Hello Mike....I'm trying to sort out the mods I need to make an '07 America comfortable for me. I have some lower back pain and like a more upright seating position. I'm 5'11" and 30" inseam. Sitting on the upright America in the showroom shows that I need about 2" of pullback. Looks like the Rivco Risers would do that for me. Now I see your bar offering. Can you offer any reasons [non biased] for choosing one over the other? And where are you in Detroit? I'm in London, Ontario, so not too far away. Thanks.

Don

Non-biased? Not a chance.<g> Seriously, the Rivco risers will raise and bring back the stock handlebars. What it won't do is change the relative axial position of your hands and wrists. The flat BA place your palms somewhat parallel to the ground. You can rotate the bars to droop the grips a bit before looking like an old boardtrack racer.

The Highlander bars (I'll explain the name in a sec) being taller and having more of a "buckhorn" shape to them, angle the grips downward so that your wrists are at (IMHO) a more ergonomically comfortable position. About 45 degress to the ground. Being so tall means you can rotate them back on the stock risers to get your spine in an upright posture, or rotate them forward for that cool Rockabilly Bobber look.

The highlander name was inspired by a T100 customer with degenerative disc syndrome... the same back problem I suffer from. I'm setting him up with these same bars (with longer cables/hose). He had an old Norton Highlander at one time which used similar high rise handlebars, so I thought it was only appropriate to -ahem- 'pinch' the name.

Mike.....Thanx for the informative description on how your High Rise Bars work. Sounds like the way to go for me.

I'm not too far from you in miles, so should I make a road trip, could you give me some directions to your shop? I'll be coming through Port Huron , down 94 to Detroit. Exit and directions from there will help. Thanks.

Don,

Unfortunately, I'm not open to the public. Do however stop in at Triumph Detroit in Roseville, MI. That's their 06 TBS that I used in my photos. They sell my parts in their shop, which I understand is the world's largest Triumph-only shop.

London eh, I live in Strathroy. Just 30 min from you Don. Would be great to meet. I have the Rivco Risers. Love them. You could always drop by [even by car] if you like to check them out. John [wojo] lives near Windsor. No one else close as far as I know. Glad to know there is finally someone close. I have a 2003 TA and have done some mods.

Hey Mike, those look great.... been seriously considering changing out my bars to see if I can get my wrist(s) in a better position and those look like they might do the trick.
Any plans on offering them dimpled and drilled? Figured if I change bars out might as well hide the wiring as well.

Hey newt,

Just to give you a relationship; my bars are 28" width, 8.5" rise, 10" pullback, and a 6" center width. You can see them here (part number 5000056):

Don, It was great meeting you today [and your buddy Don also].

I hope seeing my bike helps you make up your mind between the America and the Speedmaster. If you are still not sure, make a new post in the lounge to ask for the differences of the two 2007 models.

Thanks for that Willy....it's now nice to be able to put a face to your name. Seeing your America did inspire me all the more to pursue Triumph ownership. I'll wait now to hopefully see the '07's at the Dec. show in Toronto. I'm passing your name on to my friend Gerry who needs some frames made up. He actually works in Strathroy, so should be easy for you two to hook up. Hope to see you on the 15th at Inglis Cycle.

Thanks Don, glad I could help. Nice to see when you did come over that you were wearing Triumph coat, seeing as you own a Harley, Ha ha.
