Hi Everyone- every time I Change my air filter there is sand in my airbox. It’s after the filter —piled up in the corners inside the box. Everything appears to be sealed once filter is installed. Anybody else notice this? Where is it coming from? Anyone know? Thanks

I have had dirt/mud dobbers (what ever you call the non stinging mud loving wasp in your area) build nests inside my air filter. But that dirt stays in the filter. Even without the nests I have found dirt to fly up and get collected, I have a long dirt driveway so sand & dust can fly up during dry weather.
Have you removed the SAI bits and plugged the hole into the non filtered part of the air box? Is the crankcase still vented into the box? Are all the drain tubes still in place? I have had a small amount of sand in the filtered area of the box in the past but it has been a very small amount.

Hi Thanks- for your reply- the sand was After the filter in the filter area in the corners - but very small amount too. Engine Breather Hooked up -AI delegated with plug in all drains hooked up -two drains go to airbox- 1 over flow for carbs fuel and 1 condensation Of from cold box and air warm And excess engine oil crankcase - By the way I have seen this before, but never could figure out where from. Gone over everything I can think of every opening- was wondering if anybody else seen this and where from. Thanks Bob

I can't explain the above... others will know better.
For comparison purposes...I once bought a BMW R90/6
That had seen service with the Saudi police.
It had, not surprisingly sand everywhere. Even inside the indicator lenses.
What fun I had cleaning that lot out.
