Hey Folks!
last season I picked up a gorgeous 2016 America. It cam with the floorboards which I love since I'm a 25yo with the back of a 70yo, and being able to move my feet around on the boards while riding has been a Godsend. All this being said, I'm not thrilled with the heel-toe shifter. I keep bumping my heel on it when I'm re-positioning my feet.
I want to replace the shifter with the regular toe shifter found on footpeg bikes. Can I just get the straight piece that goes on the footpeg models or is this not compatible? I tried asking people at the dealership but not surprisingly they werent able to answer any questions.

Yes you can put the stock gear shift on and use it no problem.

Isn't the shift ear bolted on? Meaning take the rear ear off and just leave the lever. It will probably give you the room you want. You can also still click down on it if you wish.

But Dog is right the OEM shift lever will let you get your foot under it.

Thats actually quite a good idea, I had toyed with the idea of cutting the rear arm off but this seems much more reversible. Thanks!
