It's humid here and if i can't stand it i'll go back in the house. The side where my machines are going to be wile closed in with cabinets and will probably put those vinyl curtains you can walk through to close off the end. Might put a window air conditioner in as the Machine shop section will be about 200 square feet and will be self contained.

I like the vinyl curtain idea. I don't need to keep my vehicles too comfy.

Roof is on and waiting for the windows and garage doors and cement shiplap siding. High bay is 14 foot tall and the other 2 bays are lower at 10' 8". Garage doors are 10 ft wide x 8 ft tall and 2" thick with insulation, they will have electric openers. Not going to Epoxy the floor, just seal it. Don't want to worry about digging into the epoxied floor with floor jacks and axle stands, not like i use them much any more seeing as i have my lift. Can't believe how long it takes them to build something here. Was quoted $45,000 but it will probably be around $60,000 when finished. 3 garage doors are $6,800. Hope to get it finished before Christmas.

Sounds great, best of luck.

Of course you realize that pictures, at least links to pictures, will be expected.

We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.

I also just finished (this summer) a 40' X 32' shop in VA. Frost line here is 18", but when possible, I go to 24" with footers. It sounds like you're well past that point by now.
I went with a GE A/C unit that says "up to 1500 S.F." (Lowes - about $650) and it actually does a good job without running constantly. I also installed a 30,000 BTU ventless propane heater, and so far (temps into the 20's) holds 60* on the lowest setting. Bear in mind, I insulated it like a house; R38 in ceiling and R19 in walls.
I like the idea of white floor & walls. Currently have (sealed) concrete floor and bare concrete block & metal walls.
It has 22 four foot LED lights, and it's pretty bright. It also is wired with 220 for a big compressor, which is plumbed with Pex inside the walls throughout and also under ground into my garage and tractor shed.
I installed a M/C lift to save my old knees!
Should have done it years ago!

The ride may be fun, but in the Great Scheme of things, it really is about the destination! John 3:16

Hoping to add some pictures shortly. Garage was about 80% dry walled today the 65 yr. old guy picks up a 12 x4 sheet and passes it up to the younger fellows who nail it up.

I'm looking forward to seeing the pics. We're still waiting for our post and beam garage to be built - the rainy weather has delayed construction for over a month.
