Don't know if this is the right place to post this question, but anybody got one yet? If so, what're your thoughts? I'll start. My first reaction, upon seeing one and throwing my leg over it was it was great looking, the 1200cc engine was intriguing, but at 6'2 I was likely too tall for its ergos..

I've got one but haven't been able to put any miles on it.I posted in "other bikes" As you know it's smaller than the America/Original SM.At 6' 2" you are probably too big for it.Would the "Apes" kit help?Or a T-Bird or Rocket ?Then there's the weight of those to contend with.

Really like both the Rocket and the Bird. Alas. Getting old meant that I wanted something lighter and more manageable, so I traded my SuperGlide to get my America (it’s about a hundred pounds lighter!). After 3 years of ownership, in my opinion, it’s one of the best do-it-all bikes there is. Congrats on your new SM!!

I tried a T-bird.Too wide and heavy for me.I'd love a rocket but It'd kill me one way or another,if not on the road itd fall and break my leg .I'm getting old too AND shrinking,so the New SM fits me I love my America. It's been the best I I owned until now and it'll stay with me .I will see which get's ridden more but Probably both will have a place in my garage.
I bought a 650cc Kawasaki Vulcan for riding in Thailand also. It's Jap and plastic but it does fly. It's a lot of bike for the money.

Besides Paul, I think I have heard about 3 others post about there new SM’s here. And to me this is the right place to talk about it. This IS a fan site for the TBA, BA and Speemaster. Even though the new SM is completely re-designed from the ground up it is still a SM not an Other Bike. I know many here will disagree.

I have not ridden one or even sat on one since since we lost our dealer here in Tulsa again. But I have sat on the Bobber which it is based on and at 6’ 2” it seemed a little small but comfortable. I think
Many here have test ridden them and I would like to hear some opinions of owners too. My TBird can be heavy especially maneuvering around town and I ain’t getting any younger. The Adventure bikes are just too high for me and look too functional. I like all the chrome and “cool” look of Triumph Cruisers.

I think if it is a Speedmaster it is a Speemaster, redesign or not.

Right on. I agree on both points. Seems like the new Speedy is just about right -- awesome engine, good looking design. Looking forward to a review or two. On the downside, the one in my area is $11,745 USD. Gone are the $8000 - 9000 prices of the old Americas and Speedys.

I bought one in the black/white scheme. Awesome speed and torque. Triumph went over every little detail. Has lots of cool retro appointments. I will fly. Has monster twin rotors and ABS and traction control. Only downside is the forward position, it doesn't "lay back" like the old Speedies….

The second hand BAs and Speedys don't seem to hold their value here in Australia. They seem cheap second hand .That may change now there are no more of them .

CAD and Aus $ are pretty close to the same, I wouldnt pay that much for those bikes here in the north country. Then again we pay a lot more for mangoes.
