 kamikaz birds?

So, has anybody else had this experience? The last few months or so, birds have been diving from the edge of the road and from trees, right in front of my bike and car! I've nailed two with my car grill and nearly got at least three with the bike. Doesn't seem to matter if it's morning or evening. My employee says he's had the same experience on his bike,

Could be worse. A coworker of mine had a buzzard fly through the windshield of his truck when I worked at FedEx. Back in 1977 a turkey buzzard went through the windscreen of a Navy T-2 Buckeye flying at 300 knots and 500 feet temporarily blinding the pilot in the front seat. We all checked out the plane in the hanger, the stink was amazing. At least he didn't have to land it in the Hudson river.
I've had a few red winged blackbirds come close this year, I think they are trying to protect their nests.
We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.

Had a hawk swoop up out of a ditch as I passed by one day.. clipped my shoulder and helmet. Scared me pretty good.

For several years we would have Bluejays try to drive my dogs out of their fenced yard. Each year the Siberian Husky would kill both of them. I haven't seen any Bluejays in the yard for a long time.

seriously, just happened again tonight on the way home from dinner. Some kinda black bird flew right undersmy front passenger side wheel from the ditch! Don't know if I hit it or not. very weird

had to duck under a turkey once. took a dove to the throttle hand on the tiger & then I put on hand guards.
we should do this every weekend!

Yes! Funny how you mentioned it. I was even talking to the check out clerks at Publix about it who had no idea about Alfred Hitchcock or his movie ‘The Birds’ or the TV sitcom ‘HeeHaw’. Haven’t hit any, but visions of Williams, Arizona come to mind. Always thought it would be cool to hit a tweety. That is until we parked at the hotel and noticed all the guts. Everywhere.

I haven't been attacked yet, but there is a female quail that lives about 1/2 mile down the road who likes to race me on my way to work. The neighbor next door used to have a flock of chickens who liked to play "chicken" when someone drove by. If you stopped, their kid would shout, "Go ahead and run over him, we'll eat him for dinner!"

Be wary in coastal areas; A seagull to the chest at 50 mph knocked the wind out of me. I probably spent 10 minutes on the side of the road before I was able to resume my ride. Another time, a glancing hit to the helmet almost snapped my neck. Darn seagulls are unpredictable acrobats! I became a believer in windscreens (despite the look).

My brother in law who is a firefighter in Fredericton attended and accident on the highway a couople years ago. A motorcyclist had a hummingbird stuck in the back of his throat. Neither survived.
