Hi,

I'm looking for a good motorcycle jack to work on my America (oil changes, belt drive conversion, etc).

Do you have any make/model to suggest?

The two issues I'm worried about are (1) being able to remove the oil filter with the bike on the jack, and (2) having a jack that can fit around the side-stand mount.

The Constands XL looks ok. There is nothing to impede access to the oil filter, and using the rubber block supplied it should be ok to manage the side-stand mount:

Is anybody using this model? Is it any good?

Cheers
Pascal

I have a motorcycle/atv lift similar to your link. Works as expected. Especially useful if taking off the front wheel/forks.
But I find it easier to use one like this for most simple jobs.

Mine is about the same thing. I love this thing. It makes working and cleaning the bike a breeze.

Sears sells a fine one for around $90. And it meets all the criteria you're looking for. But hurry, they're going out of business any day now..

I have the same one purchased from Canadian Tire, recommended by Keith (remember him) works well. That is also where it rests for the winter which is coming too soon.

What I like about the jack I got from Sears is the kick pedal to go up and a controllable foot pedal to let her back down.

I have been using a hydraulic jack from Harbor Freight for the past several years. It is easy to use and costs less than $100 minus an extra 20% with a HF discount coupon. Fits easily under the bike and allows access for oil filter etc.

I have that same HF jack and have for years, I rarely use it for the bike anymore since I also have the HF full table lift. You can still get that for $299 on sale and take 20% off that with a coupon. I think I paid like $249 when I got mine. Both have worked faithfully for years and still do. The jack gets used on stuff like my mower now.
