I know there are still people out there sitting on the fence, as I was, about whether to go ahead and remove their AI, O2 and snorkel etc. Just do it and get the TTP breathe cover and DNA filter and tune up your module. You WILL NOT be sorry. You will be singing praises to anyone who will listen. I did this a couple of years ago now to my 08 EFI and kept meaning to write about how good it was. Finally got round to it. Bike still performing flawlessly and well enough to turn it into a keeper. Only downside (which is not really a negative) is m.p.g. went from 55 to 50. Shows how lean the standard set up is, and no way am I complaining about extra fuel costs. Some things are just worth it!

Welcome. You are right the modifications you mentioned are te best "bang for the buck" available and TTP and the owner Simon are a No1 company and very helpful .

I just received the remaped igniter from TTP along with a DNA air filter. I already did the AI, baffle removal, Norman Hyde bellmouth and re-jet. I can tell you that you can feel the difference in power, it pulls harder and the unit is modified to rev up to 8500rpm. Just amazing!

I recently installed a TTP firestarter stage 2 ignition module. Huge improvement over the OEM unit. I spent way too much time fooling with a procom unit, which had great performance, but major starting issues. Running flat slide carbs do not make it easier! Lots of back and forth between the procom and the OEM.

this TTP unit starts right up, idles better, and winds out faster.

Out of curiosity does the TTP have settings like the Procom 1-6 or is it all done through a laptop or is it just plug and play?

PnP. Stage 1 and Stage 2, those are the options. Pieman might be able to refine that, unsure, have to ask him.

I recently installed the TTP firestarter ( stage 1) / TTP safestart about 1000 miles ago, and I must say, I'm impressed. The igniter has no problematic starting issues, and the performance is awesome. My only regret is that I did'nt do this upgrade sooner. Do yourself a favor, buy a TTP firestarter, or let them remap your existing one, you will not be sorry. The TTP safestart is a must if you have the early style crankcase & love your bike as much as I love mine. Feel free to ask questions.

I've been running the Stage 2 Firestarter now for a couple years, it's been rock solid reliable and plenty of power. I had them set my rev limit at 9000 instead of 8500, just for that little bit extra. I still bounce the limiter occasionally. Running 39mm FCR carbs for the last year at this point as well, I feel like I have an excellent setup for power and reliability.

I got one from very Fast Eddy after bike got stoopit on me. Slapped it in, and had to relearn how to shift it. The rpm's have dropped a few and i now ride in a lower gear in lower speed zones. I was hoping for an uptick in mpg, but don't see one. Possibly because i am running in a lower gear more. I was always looking for another gear when i first bought this, now i am getting there too soon. Wasn't a real fan of the highway after getting used to the high winding of these machines, but now ima strolling along at 60 taking it to 65 in fourth gear. Havta be more cognizant of speed zones too. First run on the highway, i felt a little hesitation and thought she may break down again. Anyone experience that? Then i thought the TTP is prolly a computer chip and was just programming. Idle seems a little higher. I have the ai gone, uni filter, nology coils, and dunstall pipes. Anyone running the TTP with a 19 tooth sprocket? Gotta be real low rpm on the highway. Impressed with the way she runs now on the 18 tooth.

So I haven't posted here in a long time but I still have my 2007 Bonneville America.

Been running TPUSA cams, pod uni filters and drilled short tors with a pro-com igniter (map 6). Bike runs fantastic once its up and running but like others here I often have a hard time getting it to start. Bought one of those headlight cutout devices to conserve battery power when starting but still find myself using starting fluid to get it to fire. After reading this thread, I just ordered a stage 2 TTP igniter from Fast Eddy and am hoping this helps the starting issue. Will report back once I get it installed.

Best

Pat

Not sure on the ignitor setting but from what you describe it sounds as if your not jetted correctly for the rest of your set up.

Hey Dog, My jetting has been played with and to be totally honest I think I am running 45 pilot jets (not 100% sure anymore) and a 135 main. I installed the TTP CDI unit over the weekend and starting is significantly improved. The Bike ran great (stronger throughout the rev range than before). Way back in 2010 or so when I put the cams in they came with a CDI unit, but in later years had intermittent electrical gremlins and bought the Pro-Com unit which seemed to fix things except for hard starting. Anyway, the bike ran great over the weekend with the TTP unit. I am a believer.
