I love watching the Dean Martin roasts on Youtube ... Don Rickles roasting Frank Sinatra Bob Hope ... Ronald Reagan ... Jerry Lewis ... Clint Eastwood ...Talking of which, you know how people see famous faces in toast or a pancake? I swear I was lighting a cigar the other day and I saw Foster Brooks' face in the ash!!

I liked him a lot. I loved the part he played in "Kelly's Heroes"

He's of a dying breed of comedians that have some wit and intellect about them. Most comedians now have lowered themselves to shock and awe, toilet jokes and sexual innuendos, in part their style and in part their unintelligent audiences. I saw Bernie Mac come out and utter nothing but GD,MF,MF,F,F,MF,GDMF, F'in GDMF and his dumbarse audience just roared in laughter. I was saddened as well as shocked. I longed for the clean wit and intellectual humour of the comedians of the 50's and 60's (maybe 70's but it has gone downhill since then)

I wonder if he could make it in today's atmosphere of political correctness? I will never forget seeing him for the first time on Ed Sullivan and how my dad reacted . RIP sir , you were one of a kind and I'm sure we will never see another like you!! I can't recall a comedian before him that played serious roles in movies like he did ? Most funny men played comedic roles in movies but he was in several serious roles in TV and movies.
ENJOY!!!!! NEWT!!!!!

Yeah his first movie role was in 1958 in "Run silent Run Deep" with Clark Gable. On the tonight show with Frank Sinatra: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q5_V9RT8aR8

Rickles was doing a show in a club Sinatra happens to be in the audience they dont know each other yet. Rickles addresses Sinatra and says hey Frank I want you to feel at home , "Hit Someone". They were solid ever since.
Russell Peters still proves that you dont have to be politically correct to get laughs.

Paul is right about Rickles' acting ability, he also appeared in Casino. He was also the only comedian around the Rat Pack Sinatra allowed to make mafia jokes.
