Me and Donny went to an unveiling of the T100,Street Cup,New Scrambler and Bobber at our local Triumph dealer tonight. It was pretty fun. Free food and booze. I guess I liked the T100 and scrambler the best. I sat on the Bobber and it seemed pretty small w the 2.1 gallon tank and all. The seat was actually pretty comfy though. I talked to the Triumph regional rep. and he said the America and SM are done. They are going to focus on the traditional Bonnie line. The Thunderbird is going to survive only as the LT and Storm. I already figured that one out since there is an 2017 LT in the inventory of the OKC dealer and also a 17 Trophy. I guess now is the time to get a new America or SM if you've ever wanted one.

Wife and I went to the viewing in Chicago last November. We really had a great time. Glad you enjoyed it.

I bet the Chicago one was a lot bigger deal than the one in Tulsa, Ok.

Well that's bad news.I think Triumph is missing out not upgrading the BA/Speedy to 1200 but what would I know?I would have kept Victory going and cut the different models down ,and perhaps the Indian variations too,so again what would I know?

So Obviously it's a case of " Buy now why stocks last!"

Sometimes I gotta wonder ?? What the hell is Triumph thinking sometimes ?? If they fixed it so that the speedmaster had a hot 1200 with higher compression and cams and then build the America so that it was a little lazier or even keep the 865 in it , I think they would really change the market for these bikes. Who's running this show anyways???

I agree Newt except I want them to do a 1200 America too.Even do a "Sportster" and give the option of smaller or larger engine but like you say ,What the hell are they thinking?,
on the other hand, Triumph have nearly doubled their profits lately so maybe they'll go to the bike lines, such as the classics, were they think the money is.

If the rep is right, this is bad news for us drooling over the possibility of a 1200cc America or Speedmaster. The bright side for me is that I won't have to go through that decision process, which would have been a more expensive one, since my 2013 is all paid for!

While not a direct connection to the news here, I just checked my dealer's site and a new 2015 America is going for $5799, while the same year Speedmaster is $5599. I have never seen prices that low for leftovers.

I saw a 2016 America in a crate for 5,999 on e-bay.

It also says the Hurricane was only relased in the US.which is wrong because we got a few here.

I've already called Hinckley 3 times and been in email contact with the CEO for Triumph for Southern Brisbane.Also called a big Triumph dealer in Sydney who said they'd forward my concerns but no harm in trying a petition .I don't know how to start one though.

EDIT. I've just put a post up on RAT about it and sent an e-mail to Motorbikewriter the Aussie motor cycle writer.Maybe that'll do something..

This is the reply I just got from Mark at MBW.I told him I didn't really expect any news, more that I was just trying to voice my and some other peoples wishes.

Yes, I’ve also been speculating about what will happen with the cruiser range.

So far, all we’ve seen is the Bobber. But I suspect there will be more. After all the Bonne family is now up to 10 models and counting!

I suspect that with cruisers still performing well - one of the biggest growth sectors in Australia, for example - they will eventually make some.

In fact, the new liquid-cooled Bonne range has been so successful, I imagine they are going to make both 900cc and 1200cc versions, so sit tight.

You will not get an answer from anyone on future product. Dealers don;t know yet, the importer may know, but has signed an agreement not to divulge any information, while HQ workers will be sworn to secrecy.

As a journalist, I am used to everyone refusing to comment on future product, but it doesn’t stop me asking. I’ve asked and received no response.

Unfortunately, I don’t think a petition would do much good. It takes several years to develop a new model, s they are either working on it now or not.

However, if you do go ahead and draft a petition, I’d be happy to promote it and seek company comment.

What's wrong with stepping up to the Thunderbird?

Everyone seems to be asking for more displacement with the liquid cooled 1200 engine in an updated Speedmaster/America so...why not go with the Storm/Thunderbird? The T-Bird I test rode a few years ago seemed like a fine bike, I almost went with a Storm but couldn't find one in stock and the one Thunderbird they had was my least favorite color.

Too heavy and wide for me. I need my knees fixed and the America/speedmaster with a 1200 engine would be perfect size, weight, handling, ergos etc.for me.
My bike's a keeper.The only thing that could possibly move it, is if they bring a 1200cc out.Even then they could be in the garage beside each other.I could also do the big bore kit,etc.at a later date if they drop the line as there's talk about them doing
