There's always someone on here looking for a lift...Just bought a new lift for the Indian. From Menards Lumber, "The Big Red Jack". Listed lifting weight is 1500 pounds. On sale now for $79. I haven't tried it yet on the bike, but it looks beefy enough. It will replace the lighter duty one I had for the America. AND, it's made in the U.S. (Well, the box it came in is, anyway)

Youse bums need to to get out of your chairs and GO to Menards store! It never occurred to me that you were gonna buy it online. And by the way, I looked into them shipping it to me and it was $22 to ship it to my house. (It's heavy) I went ahead and drove the 100 miles round trip to the store cause that was just an excuse for a small trip.and the gas for the trip came to about $8.

America and SM are a piece of cake, 60 seconds up and good to go. Takes me about 15 minutes to get the T-Bird steady enough on the lift and thats with it under the casing.

Is there any places where a framework can be made to fit a rocket or a Tbird and then secure it to a lift. The base can be flat( to fit the lift) and then some plates contoured to mimic the crankcase can be made to allow the bike to be "cradled". Just thinking!.

I think putting a Rocket on a lift is like a moon launch. It took forever and you have to check EVERYTHING. Glad that bike is gone!

Do you still have the cat on your t bird? If so you can lift against that and the sump. 2 pieces of 1/2 inch or thicker plywood will serve as a cradle to clear the raised edges of the lift. If the cat is gone then a 2x4 can be used in its place.
