Sorry, not a riding post.
Actually, I would be scared to ride right now. They are riding left here.
We are in Japan, took me 11 years of being in Asia to land here. Wondering why it took so long. This place is amazing!
The people, the food, the tradition. We are doing Osaka and Kyoto this time around, and I must admit that I am falling in love with the place.
Soul soothing. Comes with the belly soothing. We just came back from an amazing dinner. Local style. Place can only hold about 10 customers at a time.
This is one place I will come back to.

My sweetheart spent some time there a couple of years ago and really liked it. She was visiting her son who's been living there for many years now.
Live to love, love to live.

This is one place I would like to get to plus about 1000 other places on this planet. Enjoy and post a favourite pic.

I'll put a pic or two as soon as I get home. I don't have the adapter to send my camera pictures to the ipad.

Well, I just love tako! Here's some nice examples... one is an octopus with an egg shoved inside it's head (my wife eating it), and the other is a squid stuffed with fish eggs in its head. Once you get passed the looks of the things (legs and all), you realise that it is very delicious food! I could eat those things all day! It also goes very well with beer (I suspect that some might need more beers than others to "flush the legs away"!)

I worked in Osaka and lived in Kyoto for a couple of months in 1975.God was it really that long ago? It was GREAT.I remember nearly bringing a street full of people to a virtual standstill when about a hundred little school kids where walking with their teachers and a couple of them yelled Hello.I shouted hello back and all of the kids went nuts yelling and laughing and "hello-ing".Teachers bowing.Old folks in the street bowing.Me bowing. All of them bowing back.It is a great memory. Not to many foreigners around in those days. Went back to Tokyo to see friends about 15 years ago and had a great time then too.

Japan is amazing! You can buy beer (and cigarettes) from street vending machines (and no, I haven't seen hordes of teenagers hanging around those machines), they have an automatic sake warmer machine at the restaurants, and 5 liters whisky bottles at the supermarket! Finally, every little food joint has great draft beer! Cheers!

They used to leave the machines unattended 24 hrs a day.Never any problems. My friends and I would grab a couple of beers from a machine to take home on the way from work.No-one drank on the street.I remember it was a 100 yen coin a can in those days

I used to smoke in those days and I'd buy "Mild Sevens" from the machines. They were the mildest cigarettes they had and they were still stronger than any I'd ever smoked.Tear your throat out! Ah, memories

They certainly have style. Only the potential of gout flaring up would keep that stick out of my mouth but maybe one to try it. Great Pics.

Great pics - stunning gardens. The Japs really excel with their landscaping.
