Thought I would post a couple of pictures to show that you don't need a GS or "Trallie" bike to go to Morocco... 2550 miles in temperatures up in the 40C, bikes never missed a beat and both bikes got a lot of looks especially Jackie on her T100...wall to wall GS's with all the gear down in Merzouga.......

No one in the states even bother to make a comment.....

If this would have been a post about guns or that some old celebrity ( in the states) have passed away it would have got at least 50 replays

Those are some beautiful pics. No issues with the heat?
The other day a guy on big bagger comes up to me and says I have a nice looking bike but I'd need something like his if I ever wanted to "really" travel anywhere.

No problems with the heat, just changed the colour of my after market oil filer cap and tax disc holder from dark brown to a lighter shade of brown

Did you go south through Spain and cross on a ferry?

yeah, took ferry from Portsmouth to Santander in Northern Spain, then road down through the middle of Spain via Seville. Then took ferry from Algeciras to Ceuta in North Africa which is Spanish and so still technically Europe! and then crossed the border into Morocco proper

How much paper work is envolved with driving a personal vehicle on such a excursion? Did you have to add a rider or amendment to your insurance, or buy a seperate policy.

Magnificent pictues, I am jealous.

Paperwork is fairly easy. My insurance doesn't cover me for Morocco but you can buy "Moto" insurance at the border for 10 days or a month. You need your original Title docs, Insurance and Test certificate if applicable. An international driving license is handy but if you have an ID type one that is fine. At the border you have to fill in 2 forms, one for you /passport info and one for the bike to temporarily import the bike into the country and export it back when you leave, so you need to keep your copies safe. There are "Fixers" that will do it all for you for a fee This is the third time I have been to Morocco and it usually takes about an hour to get through. The sights, smells and sounds at the border are just amazing.

If you go in through Tangiers it only takes 15-20 mins and you only need the bike's registration docs and your passport, no insurance or anything else is asked for (at least not on the last 2 occassions I was there).
Oh and the young ladies in immigration are "hot", but the policemen in the next office are extremely jealous and aggressively protective of them. Don't ask me how I know. Just offering "travelling" advice.
