How bout a thread on how reliable and trusty these Triumphs really are. Kinka looking for input as to year model, how long you've had it, milage and any non schedlued maintenance you had to do to them.

IE; My O7 SM, bought new in APR 09 a few tick away from 30k, only had to replace the speedo cable at about 24k, anything else was my own doing.

04 AM bought used last month about 24k, (I'll have to check the records, but in TIP TOP SHAPE)(3rd owner)

36,000 miles on Lola and not even a hiccup. The Fast Eddy stickers ward off evil spooks.

Thumbs up, 30,000 + km and minimal maintainance on my O7. Change the oil in Crantini and hit the start button for the past five springs and we roll. Only flaws have been dealer workshop related, over torquing or under.

45 k on my 06, typical regular scheduled maintenance, one speedo cable replaced. One single carb intake fabricated and installed.

No major repairs required as of yet. I am rather abusive too. These are tough bikes. I would definately buy another given the chance.

Yes I like it better than my wifes shovel head.

05 and 05 models. Speedo drive, coil, and 2 CDI failures on one of them. Nothing wrong on the other one. 31k and 18k

'06 BA, 48K miles. Had tons of issues to start off with which all ended up being the ignitor. They started off replacing everything they could think of and it never fixed the problem. Based on guidance from this forum I finally demanded that they replace the ignitor. They did and all issues went away. Nothing but regular maintenance ever since.

'06 TBA - Black, AI and Snorkel removed, K&N Drop In, Gutted Stock Pipes, 145/42, 2 turns out.

03 BA bought new in 04. 74k miles. One speedo cable broke and two speedos have gone wild, odometers were fine. Other than that just maintenance items and things I messed up myself. Bullet proof bike. I'd take it cross country anytime.

Dear Lord, my bike deserves an award for patience. Since I bought it I've had two back surgeries, I was out of PT rehab for two weeks when I broke my collarbone in Moab mountain biking, and lost a full year with total reconstruction of both shoulders (mountain biking, again).

I still managed to put 10,000 miles on it (and another 8k on a KLR). It's rained every frickin' day since April and I have to spray this crap on everything in the garage to keep down the mold.

I'm moving back to Colorado. Seriously, I can't stand the rain anymore. I'm flying out there tomorrow to look at houses.

60,000 km on my '03 (bought in '09 with 1200 km). Replaced faulty stator and coil. Otherwise she's been really good to me.

Purchased my TWO-THOUSAND-TWO MODEL YEAR BA brand spankin' new in November of 2001... ...and have 38K miles on it.

I've been really lucky. No problems at all, not even any problems with either the speedometer, speedo cable nor the CDI unit, which as we all know were the most common problems with the early models! Well, okay, there WAS that cheap rubber little round eyelet thing which holds the speedo cable to the front fender that broke, but hey, no big deal, RIGHT?! Easy fix there!

(...and Matt, I swear...if I NOW end up havin' some major freakin' problem with my baby 'cause you made me brag about her here, I'm comin' down there to Alabamie and givin' ya what-for...and WITHOUT a freakin' banjo on my knee!!!)

26000km on my 09. Nothing has failed on me. Ive kept the bike well maintained. Upgraded the charging system and battery because the EFI models have a small battery and my frequent short commutes were too much for the little bugger. Worming on the top triple tree but that's just aesthetic.

Cheers, Richard

'03 Speedmaster 20,000 mi. 2 front brake light switches, 1 speedometer gone wild. Brake light switch is dirt cheap and takes 5 minutes to replace and I still have the bad speedo and couldn't care less. I would have a lot more than 20,000 mi. but I have 4 bikes on the road and 3 others that I flip plates onto. I love my Speedmaster and will own it 'till the day I die.

Just wondering if we need to clarify between miles and km here. I say this cause in my original post I said rougly 30k, meaning 30,000 Miles which would be a little over 48,000km.

2003 bought in August 04, 46,000 miles on it. Speedo went whacko once and my mechanic friend lubed it and cleaned the cable and has been fine ever since...Battery took a dump after 6 years, can you imagine? Oh, burned out a light bulb in the Speedo, ready to sell it over that! Still drive it even though I have a Thunderbird 1600 I love my America!

07 BA and i'm the second owner. Right now Black Beauty has 20559 miles on the clock (only had 6500 on her when I got her back in 2010). most of the bits & pieces I've added since were either upgrades from stock, or to improve performance, or stuff I've buggered (cracked the orginal screen, bent a pair of handlebars when I laid her down awhile back & etc...yada,yada,yada) but mostly just regular maintenence overall. I clocked a bit over 4250 miles on her this Spring on my Epic SW ride without and issue (except for the speedometer I toasted trying to see how fast she'd do thru Death Valley (topped out somewhere near 120 with throttle to spare...but it was hard to tell cause the speedo crapped out just past a ton before I hit top speed)

I'd ride this bike anywhere without a concern!

Where can I get one of them thar Fast Eddy stickers?

Sorry Chet, this just made me laugh. I was thinking about your upcoming move while watching the news last night.

You might want to see if fasteddy can source you some pontoons.
