Has anyone tried to put 1-1/4" handlebars on our bikes, I know the risers and controls are for 1", but I'm thinking of the ones with the tapered ends and riser area. Something like THIS. I'm just not sure if the front brake master cyl would clear.

It's hard to be sure without being there with a tape measure, so why not measure how much 1" straight bar your grip and master require , then email the vendor for better specs on their wares?

Well, I don't want the 1" tapered end to stick way out past the master, I think that would look silly, especially on the clutch side. What I'm hoping is that the master clears the 1-1/4" part.

I guess what I can do though, is measure between my master and the 1" bar, to see how much clearance is there. If more than 1/8" I should be ok.

I just ordered a set of Yaffe's new drag monkey bars to the tune of $400+. I had asked exactly the same question and am wondering if I'll need to trim the back of my master where it faces the taper on the bar. All bars are cut for Harley master cylinders which are typically just a bit shorter than ours. I know that It's gonna be close, and thought I remembered someone here running into exactly this issue. I expect my bars any day now and I'll post a reply and some photos. $400 is a bit pricy, but these things are gonna look outrageous on my friend Jim's bike which is already a full blown custom.

No word from Yaffe yet. They said 10 weeks, it's been 12. The bars are a brand new Drag version of their Monkey bars which I have on my Street Glide. I wanted to keep my hands behind the fairing on the Harley,(seems kind of silly to me to have a fairing and 18" apes),so I ordered their 10" bars which took 10 weeks. I just got back from vacation and plan on calling this week, hope to have news soon. My customer is Jonesin' since seeing the picture of their new 5" drag bar. It's definitely gonna look crazy nice.

Bagger Nation says the bars are at the chromers and should be in my hands in 1 week.

I've been running 1 1/4 inch bars since 2007, first set were a set of 1 1/4" Chubby T Bars, second set is a set of 1 1/4" Double Z Bars, both have had no problems with reservours or anything else, as they make the bars to fit standard fitment harley, so obviously our parts slide upto the same spot & have the same clearance, tapered ends just give you more room not less

+1, that's great to hear. I thought I remembered a post here where someone had issues with the set-up but I could have imagined it. I wasn't too concerned since,"where there's a will there's a way", but it's nice to know that I won't have a fight on my hands, Thanks!
