This doesn't happen often as I usually find my groove and just stay on the throttle but yesterday I couldn't help myself. At 2:19 you hear a grunt...that is me saying "whoa" in my helmet. This video is in the northern part of Japan.

Thanks man. Unfortunately they do not sell the America in Japan but less than a year and I will be adding one to my stable!

Thanks, I admit I was a bit surprised to find so much open space in Japan. Looks like it was fun.

I am up in Aomori prefecture which is the last prefecture on the mainland under Hokkaido. There is a ton of beautiful country up here and the riding is off the charts

Thanks for sharing, the road conditions look to be in great shape and for some reason reminded me of Virginia.
That looks like a stretch of asphalt I could have way too much fun on,

It's not speeding till you get pulled over.

I brought this 2006 Creamsicle with me when I took my assignment to Japan from England.

Only problem is that the Japanese government makes everyone perform an import/emissions testing in order to license the bike on the road. The only test center is in Tokyo which is about a 10 hour drive and the whole thing would have cost me between 3-4 grand. I could not justify paying 4 grand on a bike I already own outright just to put a license plate on it.

So instead I hunted this 2007 down on the market over here and bought it:

The original logic was that I would be able to get a used Bonnie, pay cash for it, ride it for my tour and then sell it back on the market and still make out better than paying for that import test. But plans have changed as I like having two Bonnies. My plan now is to bring both Bonnies back with me and match up a sidecar to my Creamsicle. I have two young boys and I would put a Trumpet sidecar to very good use. The silver Bonnie is a keeper as I always wrench on it and will most likely do the bore kit when I get back and make it into a street legal track bike. Finally...the first order of business will be to hunt out the used market and get myself a used but in good condition America. The wife and I want to start enjoying riding together again now the boys are getting older and the Bonnie is an awesome bike but not for going two-up. I am a big fan of this motor in my opinion you just can't beat this motor especially for what they go for in the used market. Hopefully in about a year I can show you a picture of my shed that will house three Trumpets

Matt, you have great taste in machines and have chosen wisely! The more bikes, the merrier!

Ya can't have too many Triumphs, and anyone who says otherwise is a wife!

I guess I am lucky because my wife agrees with my logic and is looking forward in finding an America when we get back stateside. It is going to be a process that we will do together...hunting it down, going to see it, etc. So it will be more of "our" bike to get away on a Saturday/Sunday to go get that 200 mile cheeseburger.

I am not a fan of the T-bird. It's a well made bike but not for my pocketbook. I have toured through two continents now on a Bonnie and this motor is up to the task without any problems. Then you factor in the fact of what a used America goes for, what a Cozy sidecar goes for (that I will paint myself to have the Creamsicle theme) and I STILL will save myself about 5 grand versus just buying ONE T-bird. I get a lot of strange looks when people hear that I will have three Bonnie motors in the shed but I think it makes perfect sense and is pretty shrewd. I'm not sure which I am looking forward to more...throwing my boys in the sidecar and buzzing around for an ice cream cone or the wife and I heading out together on a cruiser....either way it will be some good times!
