Ok so the bike has stopped cutting out. But cruising at 50-65 there is a hesitation very little. I have cleand all filters and vents. Switched pickup coil with my bike. It has 120 and stock pipes. any ideas on what could be making it do that.

Presuming that you have ruled out vacuum leaks, then you'll need to share a few more details such as main jet pilot jet, pilot fuel screw setting, needle, float height in order to get an accurate answer.

If you have verified everything as stock then try opening the pilot screws to 2 turns out & see if things improve.

Presuming the bike has stock NBAD needles, you might also try one .5mm thick shim.

I suggest trying the pilot screw adjustment first.

actaully the hanes reads two turns out on the america and SM as the factory setting???

And ya the uni filter is not stock and will let in more air then the oem, so more air equals lien setting at oem , dial it out to at least 2.5 turns out and start there, i bet you will be close.

True enough but each bike is slightly different, even bone stock, and you need to adjust for your particular bike and location. Even the sides of the engine can be different and the screws end up at slightly different settings. The book just gets you started at a baseline and then you should tweak to suit.

Have you balanced the carbs yet?

Cracks in the air box? Or carbs out of balance?
