I just verified that Clinton Cycles is no longer a Triumph dealership. As of Saturday, April 28th, they sold off their inventory of new Triumphs to a new dealership in Annapolis, MD. Clinton is still operating but only selling used bikes now.

That amazes me, Fred. Maybe Clinton wasn't making its numbers, but in the Balto - DC area that would seem to be almost impossible.

Yep, so sick of me they made me Pack Leader, plus I'm their webmaster. Punishment for hanging out there too much.
I am very fortunate that they are a great shop. It's like family.

Fred,
That sucks. I'd never bought anything from Clinton, but I've dealt with their sales reps at bike shows and liked them much better than the reps from Pete's and Fredericktown. I was gonna go to them to buy the GF's Speedo.

Wrong type of store for that isn't it?

You ever thought about going to a non dealership bike shop. An "independent" bike shop for your service? I understand when the dealership is a good one and the service is great the service is great. But when they are no longer available then ya gotta do what ya gotta do. Some small shops are very good and will be glad to earn your buisness.

I don't know. I used to buy banana hammocks for myself from them all the time.

The above public service announcement has been brought to you by the I.M.S.O.A.A.

(...which stands for the "Independent Motorcycle Shop Owners Association of America"...right Chad?!)

Don,

Clinton Cycles is where I bought my America back in May of 02. Only bike I’ve ever bought there. The good news is they are not closing and Jeff the mechanic is still there. Doesn’t really effect me one way or the other because as I’ve needed parts, I’ve ordered them from other dealerships out of state which was cheaper and quicker then what I would have paid at Clinton. Oh well, if I have to go to a dealership, it’s a nicer ride over to Annapolis anyway….

The only thing I’m gonna really miss is helping them with the demo rides. Was able to choose and ride any and all the models when I took people out for the demo rides. Never had to wait for the Triumph Demo Truck to come into town….

Join the club, John. It's a good 100 miles or so from up here in Sedona to down there in the heat of Scottsdale(this time o' year anyway) and to my nearest Triumph dealership, too!

(...sure wish that multi-brand dealer in Prescott Valley would take on Triumph...we really need one up here in northern AZ!)

As long as Jeff is still there they I feel better. Chad, I have absolutely nothing against Indy shops (in fact I prefer them). I just haven't had any success in finding one (close to me) that worked on Triumphs. I guess somebody is trying to tell me to suck it up and figure out how to work on my own bike.
