I remember that day. It took about a month for him to grow a few hairs. Jeez, I hope the kid doesn't read this.

My 16 year old needs a shave every 2nd or third day - unfortunately he will likely never be able to do it himself. I am thankful that he finds it interesting and makes it relatively easy for me - especially since I gave up shaving before he was even born!

Yea I know what you mean. One day they are born the next you teach them to drive and shave. Then they go to college, and move off. My oldest will graduate college soon, and has moved out already.

I was forced to give up shaving years ago because they quit making blades for my razor.

I loved it when my boys around the age of 3 wanted to be like dad and we bought them play razors and foamed the faces all up. They are 9 and 10 now and I catch them everyso often watching me. But now that I am a night worker, I only shave once a week or so depending on whats going on on the weekend. Yep, its a mileston, one I am happy to wait a while for.

Yep, it was just a few days ago that I was thinking about how fast they grow up. How you spend time teaching them about life, while doing things together. Everything from working in the yard to playing guitar, and fishing. Its been the best thing that I've done with my life.
I guess my point is, savor those times together. It makes it all the more sad and proud at the same time when they head out on their own.

Here's a great shaving site that I've been visiting for years. I'm a DE shaver (double edged safety) using a Merkur razor from Germany. It's a cheaper way to shave than those expensive, plastic cartridges from Gillette. Closer shaves too. Might as well start your son out on the right foot.

After getting over the shock that there's a site for shaving , my first thought was that it could be a pseudonym for a porn site

Imagine my relief when it turned out to be for shaving

(for "relief" read "disappointment")

Disappointment or disbelievement? Seems the net changes most things innocent to totally unbelieveable things and I still cant figure if thats good or bad

I can remember my first "barber" shave from my teens. The old guy whipped out this cut throat razor, lathered up my face, stropped the edge of the instrument and set to work (which took about 5 minutes or so) on my face. All with my dad lookin on & just about ready to bust.

As far as razors go the ol cut throat has worked for me for many years. check out Dututh Trading Co.'s website for "old fashioned" shaving equipments (shaving soaps, mugs, & etc. )
