Selling my 2011 Speedy!

The only reason I'm selling is because I'm realizing I no longer want the "cruising" riding position.
I'm looking to get either a Thruxton or a a Scrambler.

Any thoughts, recommendations? I recently had a XR1200 (sold) but enjoyed the upright riding position. I think the Scrambler would feel the same, however I have actually sat on a Thruxton and felt comfy. I also like the idea that the Thruxton has 10 more horsepower, I know I could "wake" the Scrambler up as well................

Well Mark, the Scrambler, T-100 , Thruxton are hot, If I were you I would talk to the dealer about trade in value...look at cost difference and also cost of moving the controls to mid-mount on the speedy.... several options you can go, in fact on my chopped Bonnie-A I've had cafe bars, drag bars & stock with my control positions as rear-sets, mid-sets and stock forward-control.....kind of a "convertible " thing going on.....I looked at the riding positions as you are and was thinking real hard on the scrambler, being a cheapie though descided to go the "movable controls route" .....note, some welding & bending may be required.....but it fit my need or want at the time ( I'm back to cruiser at the moment btw)

I think on a 2011 you would do better as a trade in. Man I like the thruxton, but that Bonneville SE is one sweet ride.

Probably too late to leave it outside and let it get blown away by the hurricane, eh?

I would not go with the Thruxton, unless you like rear sets. My 04 also has clip-ons. I love the bike , but it's not a great traveling bike unless you are "busy", IE twistys.

On the other had, I love my 03 America, but I hate the front peg position except out on the highway.

I'd go with the Scrambler or any of the mid pegged Bonnie variants. They are a hoot to ride and will do things our bikes won't.

I'm keeping the Speedy, have grown to like the riding position, I do want the Thruxton power tho, which is the best big bore kit for fuel injection, does anybody even make any maps for a 2011 Speedy with a 904 cc big bore kit and Air box removal kit?

I would go for a Scrambler or a Bonny over a Thruxton. Scrambler first on the list.

Might want to let eBay know that.
