So as some of you may know I got laid off from my job as security manager in October. I finally got a job YEAH! Not so fast....Its part time and half my salary...I would make the same by staying home and collecting unemployment. I just can’t sit on the sidelines anymore. The recruiter told me strait out "your over qualified, this is all we have it pays this much....take it or leave it" Hopefully it will turn into something better when the economy speeds up.
Tuesdays still suck...just a little less now.
Bill.

Congrats Bill. Here's to, as you said, it turning into a full time gig somewhere down the road!
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

I'm glad to hear you're not just sitting, Bill. Boy, I'm sure hoping you get your full salary back soon, brother.

Been out of work since Sept. with no unemployment. In the past week I have laid a concrete pad, fixed landscape lighting, started a one day a week gig doing some consulting, put up a shed and did a yard clean up. And I only was in the negative by about $300. I'm going to be working nites doing security. Never thought I could be this low. But I still have my Speedy and my guitar. Good luck to all going thru this economy.

Good luck brother. I expect to fall to the bottom so I can rise back to where I presently reside any day now. It's the new American Way.

Like I said I have been in business for myself towing, repair, and selling parts but business is practically non-existent. I used to do pretty well for myself but now I have eaten up most of my savings and am going to have to look for work. Well have been looking but the Army depot eliminated 300+ jobs right up the road from me and Liz Clayborn distribution about 1/2 hr from me is closing too and that's another 300+ jobs lost. Makes it hard to find decent work with so many looking for jobs all at once. That isn't counting people that were already looking.

Ouch. Glad you are working now Bill.
I am in a similar boat; where my profile lists security... think uniform. (Not a mall ninja at least)
