I decided to join the TOMCC, and I am beginning to wish I had never bothered. I wrote a cheque out in Fevruary it was never cashed, phone calls emails never answered. I eventually got through to Tony Ryan and posted a cheque to him it was cashed 04/05/06. I emailed him same day and Tony said he was waiting for the membership card before he can post everything out? Does everybody have trouble with TOMCC, and before you all say, it is all run through volunteers, well maybe those volunteers should care a little more about members. Not even got my membership and I will not be renewing it next year.

Just to rub salt into your wounds mate, I had no problems with my memebership.

If I remember, it took about 2 - 3 weeks to come through.

You've just reminded me, my renewal just came through a couple of days ago .....

Hate to crush your bubble Ray....I am one of their volunteers...however I cannot understand why it took so long.
TOMCC is wierd in the way it's set up. Each Branch is where you're membership goes and a subscription goes from the branch to the national club. That's why I can't understand why it took so long. Unless you posted it to the national level and then they have to post it back to your branch...who then cash the cheque...you get the picture...
Just bear with them. Now you are a member, when you do renew, there won't be the problems.

You'll probably have the only America and win all the prizes at any events they do....I did!

Ray,

I doubt it will make you feel any better, but it may work. Send me a cheque. I'll cash it immediately.

Hi Gina

Sent the cheque to my local branch who cashed it, waiting for a membership card from Tim BUK Tu I think which still has not turned up, so you can see why I am a little stressed and thinking why do people bother joining this club.

pipedr - let me think about that one - Err - don't think so

I will admit I'm the youngest one there...again!

Ray the cards come from the national club....just have patience. I think my card took about a month after the cheque was cashed.
As for why people join...£15 for £50 off their insurance....maybe more!
We (the Bristol Branch) have 16 members within a mile radius of me.....buggered if I know where/who the other 15 are...never see them. Hence my view of insurance reducing membership.
